Answer I had the same problem and here is the answer I found
at leapfrog.com which fixed my daughter’s disney princess leapster 2’s
problem. Good luck!
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to
hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit
Turn off the Leapster2 and remove cartridge (if there is one). Push and hold down the hint button (the one with the question mark) while the game is off. Turn the Leapster on while still holding down the hint button until you see the calibration screen. Push the "A" button to enter the calibration. There will be a little plus sign. Touch it with the stylus and continue to touch the plus signs with the stylus until you return to the calibration screen. Turn the Leapster off and then back on again without a cartridge. Login as usual. If this does not work, then call customer service, depending on how old it is. I've had ours for over a year, and this still works each time.
We have the same problem and our leapster is only 2 days old.Do Touch Screen Calibration,it should help.I do it everytime for my son when he wants to play and it does help...But once u turn leapster off,u'll have to calibrate it again next time... Just hold down hint button while turning on.When the Leapster menu screen appears, press the A button.Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus.restart unit. ..That what we do everytime.
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint button while turning the unit on
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit
I've tried the Home and A button several places... and it seems to work for others but not me :( I was about to give up then I found another way to reset the screen - Hope it works for you!
1. Unit must be OFF and NO cartridge
2. Hold down the HINT (?) button while turning the unit on
3. When Leapster menu screen appears, press the A button
4. Touch each of the cross hairs that appear with the stylus
5. Restart unit
To determine if there is an issue with the touch screen, you need to follow these steps:- * Turn on the unit and select any user. * Select 'Option' from the keypad. * Then select 'Configuration'. * Scroll down to select 'Diagnostics”. * Scroll down again and select 'Touch Screen Test”. If you can complete the 'Touch Screen Test ', it implies that there is no issue with the touch screen. The most effective way to use the touch screen is to select using the tip of the finger or with a blunt end of a pen or a stylus. However, if you cannot complete the touch screen test, it would imply that there is a problem with the touch screen.
