Harsh carb cleaners or soaking longer than 15 minutes can "swell" the check valves in the cube (in the Idle circuit and the Main nozzle) and once they fail, the carb will not operate correctly. The prime symptom is that the primer bulb won't draw fuel. Use mild brake cleaner or WD 40 ONLY to clean these little jewels. They CANNOT take prolonged exposure to very harsh chemical cleaners.

What is the adjustment or how to adj, a single screw carb?

That is the mixture screw. Turn clockwise to get a leaner mixture, counter-clockwise for richer. For initial setting, try with the mixture screw open 1/4 turn. Start the engine and adjust the mixture screw for good running. After it is warmed up, lean the mixture until the engine starts to miss and then turn the screw about 1/8 turn CCW

I have an older homelite leaf blower that has not been in use for several years. I put new fuel lines, fuel filter and spark plug on it and clealed resister in muffler. When I try to start it, it will...

The gaskets and the pliable diaphragms in the carb have dried out. Therefore, the carb cannot deliver fuel to the engine. Disassembly and cleaning of the carb will be required (esp. if very old fuel left to dry inside it). After that, a rebuild kit or at the least; a gasket and diaphragm kit will need to be installed. This will then enable fuel to get to the engine. If you repost the exact model number of this machine, I can reply with the part number for a rebuild or gasket and diaphragm kit. Your unit has probably a Zama (will be wrote on the cover with vent-hole) or Walbro carburetor. Kits are available for both.

I have a Weedeater fl 1500 le leaf blower that won't run wide open. It will start, but it has to remain at one half to three quarter choke to remain running. Changing the throttle opening seems to make no...

Simple solution your weed-eater has a Walbro carb buy a rebuild kit and rebuild the carb and it will run like new, don't touch any screw settings on the carb. You can purchase from your local repair center just give them the number on your carb and they will give you the correct kit. Go to smalleng.com they have a video on just this issue. Good Luck.. Don't forget thumbs and feedback.

Blower must remain @ 1/2 choke in order to continue to run

You need to get a carb rebuild kit. there is a number stamped on your carb usually walbro carb it will be stamped WT# # ( # ) take that number to your local repair shop or on line and get a kit.

I am looking for carb kit for my homelite leaf

Does your model #ut-08010, Have a letter after it. Homelite lists 5 or 6 models of that unit. Plus the kit they show is a complete carburetor with gasket. You will have to figure out which carburetor they put on your blower. Either a Walbro or Zama carburetor and it model to figure out which kit it will need. The homelite kit lists for about $67.00 USD.
You can go to www.precisionope.com and look it up under OEM parts.
Hope it helps.
Good Day.

Weedeater won't take fuel

You need to remove the carb., disassemble and spay with carb. cleaner. Use a Den Tek Brush, (used for cleaning between teeth), toclean the small portals in carb. Check the small screen. It could have dirt clogged in it. Reasseble and start. If it still doesn't run properly, you will need to buy a carb. kit and replace the screen, needle valve, gasket(s), & diaphragm.

Parts number

You need to know if it is a walbro or a zama carb. to start with.
then look closely at the carb. and find #`s
very small

walbro will be wt or wa then some #`s
zama will be c1q or c1u and some #`s on the opposite side of carb.
Walbro will be on the same side

you need to know the carb. #`s so a kit can be found for that particular carb. IE: complete kit or diaphram kit
