I have a pair of Sony MDR-EX32 earbuds, which worked great the first few months I had them. Now, all of a sudden, the right earbud won't produce ANY sound! I have tried the earbuds with several different audio jacks (i.e. iPod, Creative MP3 player, laptop, iMac computer) all with the same results. What's wrong with the headphones? Is there anyway I can fix it? If not, will Sony replace them?
SOURCE: right earbud plays really soft.
I found the problem with the right earphone. The meshing in front of the speaker cone which protects it from damage or earwax has been pushed in. The meshing and the cone were coming into contact and muffling the speaker.
I took a knife blade and pushed in on the edge of the meshing, which pushed the center of the meshing back out. So I still have a dent in my earphone, but it plays loudly again.

They should come apart right where the metal meets the plastic, just below the buds themselves - be careful, one set like that I took apart were actually surface-mounted to the housing, there weren't any leads to repair...

whatever the problem is give a call to Bose customer support(800-999-2673) and u can talk with them to get a replacement. If u r in one year warranty they will replace it(even if havnt bought it at bose store)...otherwise they will charge $50 i believe

SOURCE: left earbud problems
Well, I had the same problem with the right earbud. Luckily I was under warranty with Target, so they told me to contact Bose. I did and they had me send in the headphones (to make sure I waas telling the truth) and about 2 weeks later I got my earbuds back. Their customer service is excellent, so that's what I would reccomend
