Try doing a direct LAN connection ( a cable) between your PC and your router instead of wifi. Does that keep an internet connection?
if so check the antenna on the adapter is firmly connected and pointing upward, and less than 15 metres from your router.
Please download http://www.sabrent.com/drivers/USB-AVCPT-New.zip to a location you can easily find later (DESKTOP is a good location so you can delete the folder after installation) At this point you can update the drivers manually... 1. Right-Click on MY COMPUTER, Select PROPERTIES. 2. Select HARDWARE 3. Select DEVICE MANAGER 4. Scroll down to the USB Video adapter. 5. Right Click on the Device and select UPDATE DRIVER. 6. Do NOT allow Windows to automatically find the drivers. 7. BROWSE to the Folder you created at the beginning and direct it to the correct folder for your operating system. STK1150 should appear.
The computer has an ethernet adapter builtin, in the control panel disable the ethernet connection Device=NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and then make sure the drivers for the usb cable modem are installed.
If it's an SMC with a little luck you'll find the drivers for your specific model number, Otherwise, go to SMC Site and search for your model number. If it's not an SMC device, let me know what brand and model number it is.
