LP and propane are the same gas. Did you mean you are converting from natural gas to propane? You can buy the conversion kit from your local appliance parts store and then hire your propane co serviceman to do the conversion for you. You''ll need the make, model and serial number to order the correct kit.

Today's dryers are not as easy to access as they used to be. They used to have an actual front panel you could remove to access everything inside, but now they only give you a peep hole and you have to take the unit apart. I don't recommend doing it yourself. Like today's cars, appliance manufacturers are making them more complicated and harder for the average person to access for repair. As a propane serviceman, you'll have to trust me on that.

Gas to Propane requires a Propane Certified technician. These technicians are provided by the company that provides Propane that they will be using.
You may need to get a Propane conversion kit, for technician from the Propane company to install.
You can certainly double check on this...Hope this helps.

I'm converting my natural gas dryer over to LP gas. I've changed the orifice but it is saying to close the regulator. It says the same thing with Natural gas but that doesn't make sense because it isn't...

I know from working on piles of restaurant equipment, that when you change over from natural to propane, you have to change the orifices and the regulator. Most natural gas equipment needs 3.5-4.0" of W.C. (that is, water column) and most propane gas equipment needs 9.0-11.0" W.C. The density and specific gravity of the gases are different. If it is glued so as you can not make any adjustments to the pressure, change the regulator to a propane one. Most natural gas regulators can not be adjusted to the propane pressure needed. Please be careful as working with gas can be dangerous. Natural gas is usually lighter than air and will rise but propane is heavier and will "pool" or "puddle" in low areas and can cause explosions in the right circumstances.

How do i convert from natural gas to LP or Propane?

You need the LP gas conversion kit: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/Appliance-Parts/whirlpool-lp-gas-con-item-number-ap4300853.aspx . Other sources may exist. This includes a replacement orifice and a spring and the installation instructions. The orifices are swapped with a small wrench. The spring fits inside the regulator inside the blocking plug.

You will also need to remove the cap from the regulator and turn it over. This makes the regulator compatible with LP gas. It's easy to tell which side is which - each side is labeled.

However, the conversion kit should be installed by a professional trained for the job. Your local LP dealer should be able to help you find a repair person with the skill. (Improper installation could result in a gas leak.)

I hope this helps.

I have a lgr7646JQ whirlpool heavy duty gas dryer that was outfitted for propane but i need to change it to natural gas - what do i need to do?

You will need to change fuel orifice and possibly adjust air intake valve. Recommended to have a pro do it but if you can find original instructions, they should have step by step instructions. Also there should be an orifice kit with instructions or taped to drier housing in the back. Depending on how old the unit is and how many times it has been used the orifice may be lost.

Amana NDG2335AWW Gas dryer LP or Natural?

If there are no stickers indicating so, you will need to open up the dryer and measure the gas orifice. A propane orifice should be either a #54 or #58.

Change from natural gas to propane

1.You will need to change the pilot orifice and the burner orifices
2. You may need to change the gas control valve. Some gas control valves are made for natural gas and some are made for LP. They have regulators built-in, that deliver the correct pressure respectively. Natural gas is 3.5 inches of water column, LP is 10 inches of water column.
Some manufacturers sell kits to change the spring in the regulator from Nat to LP
You would need a parts breakdown on the specific model number of your fryer to find the parts you need. Hope this helps.

Changing a gas ge dryer to a propane----convertion package we25x10014 directions show a picture of the control panel with 4 plug ins at the bottom and changing out the last one on the right for the new...

Converting your Natural Gas Dryer to Lp is taking it from a lower BTU gas "Natural" to a higher BTU "LP" value. The orfice on a LP gas valve is smaller because you dont need as much gas to make the same amount of heat. make sure you change the orifice. The little plug goes in the regulator of the gas valve, changing the valve from a low gas pressure Natural to a Higher Pressure LP.

If the kit doesnt look right, did you get the correct one?

Maybe you should call you LP provider they can do the conversion for you.
