My computer want let me udate my sandisk,sansa e260 firwere updates, i got a new computer and dnt have the disk that came with it anymore to load the mp3 on the computer at all it come up usb device not reconized

Recovery Mode: download the update software and install then lock your sansa hold in the rec key on the left at the same time push the menu/power button this will take you to recovery mode then connect to the computer Start the update software if it doesn't start automatic go to /start /all programs /Sandisk/sansa updater/ sansa updater and start it up manually... follow instructions on the updater and the sansa.

1. Download the SANSA Updater from:

2. Install Updater

3. Plug in the SANSA e260

4. If it needs new firmware, it will tell you to download and install.

5. Follow directions on screen.

connect it to the comuter then get sansa updater and reinstall the firmware on the sansa

Get the Vista compatible software from Sandisk's website

there web site has driver downloads just download the sansa media converter

I would recommend that you update the firmware on the device..Once the firmware is updated you shouldnt have that problem anymore..I hope that helps
