SOURCE: HTC Touch Phone is hung up with the following message:

Hi,

I've got the same problem and I finaly succeed to fix the problem.
Here is how to proceed:
1- push the upper side "power button" and the right side "Photo button" at the same time with one hand (yes, I know it's hard ;-))
2- With the stylus, press the reset button (the hole at the lower side)
3- Before the evil message comes up again, put your stylus down and press the central button and the left directional button simultaneously, keeping the two buttons of action 1 pressed (it's besome harder!)
4- If you succeed to press this four buttons for a while, your cell phone should come to life again!

The good thing is that the flash memory has not been erased and the previous content is still available.
The bad thing is that my "Photo button" is now unusable and each time I press the "Power button" it acts as the "photo button" did before.
The solution is to associate "No action" to the Button#1 in the configuration menu.

Another side effect: each time I press the reset button, I've got again the evil message and I have to proceed like above to recover my phone.

Well I hope this will help you.
Regards,

Hard Reset

You can also perform a hard reset (also known as a full reset). A hard reset should be performed only if a normal reset does not solve a system problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings - the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.

To perform a hard reset
  1. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
  2. Release the stylus, but continue pressing the TALK and END buttons until you see the following message on the screen:
23d5a7b.jpg

3. Release the TALK and END buttons, and then press ENTER on
your device.

Warning! Your device will be set back to factory default settings. Please ensure any additional installed programs and/or user data have been backed up before a hard reset is performed.

I hope that helps.

I changed my HTC touch screen because it started to work bad. After I replaced it, NO SIM apears on my screen, I checked flex conections and they are fine, my model is HTC P3650 Cruise model, any ideas how...

Hi,

It's good to know that you are technically inclined since you've replaced the screen yourself,but the problem with your phone could be solved by a very simple solution;

1.Clean out the simcard port using a cotton wool damped with spirit.

2.I.If this doesn't work then it can be concluded that it's a software issue, which can be resolved by flashing the entire ROM(random operating memory) of the phone.

Take care..

HTC HD won't connect to my email server

Hi.

Not sure if this helps or ot, as the original question was a little lacking on detail:-)

If you are using t-mobile (might apply to other operators as well, but I could only test on t-mobile) try the following:

Start
Settings
Connections Tab
Connections
Set up my proxy server
Clear the tick box title "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet"

Worked for me.

Hang up

I had the same problem > HARD RESET worked. Press and hold the TALK and END buttons, and also press the RESET button [at the bottom of the phone], all of this in the same time.
Then release the RESET button but continue to press the TALK and END buttons, and a message will appear asking you if you really want to reset everything.
