It is not cold. The fan works but when the cold air should come on it doesnt. You can hear it trying to kick on for a moment but it doesnt, it just keeps blowing as a fan. Thanks for any help. I would even buy another one of the same model if I could find it but that doesnt seem possible either.

If compressor is not shorted out to the ground and between each leg of compressor multimeter reads resistance You could try to install 3 N 1 hard start kit. But most likely compressor is weak, be prepared to replace compressor soon. Here is my situation on this compressor - everything was running, but compressor. I check for short and resistance on windings - everything shows that its a good compressor. Installed Supco 3n1 kit. Unfortunately it did not help - need a new compressor.

It could be your compressor not running. A couple of things could cause that. There could be a capacitor for the compressor that is bad. The contactor for the compressor may not be working. The compressor itself maybe shot. If you have a multimeter you can check the winding resistance of the compressor. If it checks capacitors you can check that too. Sometimes a low refrigerant charge may keep it from coming on.

Bad run capacitor or bad compressor. If you hear an occasional click from the compressor try a new run cap and then a hard start kit. Otherwise it's more economical to purchase a new unit.

Trane xr12, fan works but compressor doesnt come on.

Check the capacitor and contactor. You may have wires burnt at the compressor terminal from corrosion.

A/C blows good cold air and everything works as it should, however when I turn the A/C on (doesn't matter what fan speed) I hear a constant clicking/ticking noise coming from what sounds like a fan

What you are most likely hearing is the compressor kicking on/off. The constant kicking could be a sign that there's insufficient refrigerant to keep the compressor running continuously without shutting on/off. Eventually, the compressor won't kick on at all, a safety feature designed to prevent doing damage to a compressor that's undercharged. Have the AC system checked.

Profile Arctica, Air flow fan runs but compressor dont kick in to make anything cold!

1. is light on in side when you open the door. If not check breakers or fuses.
2. Can you hear the compressor running. If not do you hear any clicking sounds.
3. If you hear clicking sounds, try putting a fan on compressor and unplug refrigerator.
4. Wait one hour.
5. plug back in. If compressor starts let it run and see if it cools, if it doesnt, call service man.
6. If it goes back to clicking, call a service man.
try this.

Frigidaire Refrigerator not cooling

Is the fan on the bottom on? Do you hear the compressor kick off and on within a minute? No/ Is the evaporator fan running? Do you have frost on the evaporator? Frost is a sign that the defrost isnt working. If evap fan doesnt run it wont cool the refrigerator. If everything is running and no frost buildup in freezer then you have a sealed system problem and need of a tech.

NO COLD AIR

If the fan and compressor are both running and no cold air then you’re low on refrigerant,
Thermostatic expansion valve closed or bad , dirty condenser or the valves are bad in the
