My son's leapfrog tag will not recognise the book "Cars - Tractor Tipping". When we use the tag with it it says: "Ask your parent to connect your tag to the computer to download new stories and games." I have tried re - downloading the audio and removing and reinstalling on the tag.

Please let me know if this helps you out.
Thank you
Testimonial: "The problem was with the country settings on the audio - it seems that the book I had was from the UK and not US. Thank you for your help."
So the above comment fixes the problem... but the problem is caused by a difference between country of the book you downloaded and the country of your Tag and the physical book. The solution is to download the right audio book. Go to Leapfrog application... select audio download and change the country (in the top right corner) to 'Britain' - if thats where you bought the book. Then check the country of the tag is also 'British'. To do this, connect your tag and then in Leapfog software, in top right corner, click settings - should say 'British'. Then download the audiobook in the application... should say 'Queens English' on the item you have downloaded - if it says 'American English' then you've downloaded the American version, not the British version - again back to select audio download and change the country (in the top right corner) to 'Britain' - if thats where you bought the book. Then download the British book.
It worked for me - I have Tractor tipping working now.
Good luck.
Thanks soooo much for posting when you worked it out this problem has been driving me potty for days!!!
What about if you live in and purchased the reader and books in south africa?

When plugged into the computer the light came on softly and the pen got hot. It is not responding to the tags on the book. Although at one point the sounds and buttons were working.
