Mr. Gates, yes there is away to change the pw recommended you get a tech out to do it. Change admin pw not over the internet. Should have a paper work to back it up. Big time security thing Hard drive access and stuff

The default ID and password are "11111" and "x-admin" respectively. When accessing the administrator menus on the copier the code 11111 is used. I couldn't find a way to reset specifically.

I believe you should be able to access the Admin Menu by pressing the System button on the operator panel. A password is required to enter Admin Menu when Panel Lock Set is set to Enable. To Disable the Panel Lock you will need a password. The factory default panel password is 0000. Hopefully you haven't changed that. This procedure is described in the manual on pages 315 ff. I believe from there you can go in and assign a new Admin password if required.

First you have to enable the admin mode:
press and release: (down arrow) * #
on SOS1 change the 8th bit to 1 (counting right to left)
ie: 00100001 to 10100001 {press OK to confirm}
Now the admin menus are enabled.
To <Erase all. Reset to default configuration>
press (and release): (down arrow) #7

Press the utility button, then touch screen, meter count, then stop00 stop 01. Then admin input to change the password default is 00000000.

You need to pull up the interface of your router to obtain the security code. Do the following steps:

1. open the command prompt on the pc
2. in the command prompt, type ipconfig
3. take note of the default gateway
4. open internet explore (or other browser) and type the default gateway in the address bar
5. the router page will be asking for a uid and pw, you should be familiar of such, if not try using admin for uid and admin for pw. These are mostly the default uid and pw for most routers.
6. once the interface of the router is pulled up, check on the wireless set-up and check on the wireless security password. That is the pw the printer is asking about.

You need to be in the ADMIN. to change / enter codes. There is a separate code for the ADMIN. Input that code and you can change, edit, add new codes. If the ADMIN code was not ever changed then it will be the default code in the manual. Be ready because the code is not where you think in the manual. I believe it is is the setting section or check management settings. The default is usually 000000 or 111111.
