Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

DPGT750Gc1ww Wont heat up Igniter lights but burner wont light

If it's an HSI (hot surface ignitor) that glows, then usually the ignition control module looks at it's current draw, to assume that it's hot enough to ignite the gas. If the current draw isn't sufficient, then it won't open the gas valve.

If you see it glow, put your volt meter on the gas valve terminals to see if it gets energized. If it doesn't energize before it locks out, then let the HSI cool down to room temp and check the resistance of it. Compare that resistance reading to a new one (one that is worn will have a higher resistance than a new one - more resistance, less current draw!).

I need to find where the fuse is in my GE profile gas dryer DPGT750GC1WW. WE need to find this because our heat doesn't work so we need to replace the fuse

The model number you gave is for a gas dryer.
You will not find a thermal fuse in this dryer.
Your problem with no heat most likely lies in the gas valve or its subcomponents like the thermistor/flame sensor or igniter/glow coil.

GE Dryer DDG7580B does not heat. vents are clear, dryer tumbles, just no gas ignition. Other gas appliances working well. Help!

Replace the ceramic ignitor WE4X444. An easy fix. Nut is on the gas valve (not the line) to remove the burner assembly to replace the ignitor.

Good luck..

GE Gas Dryer (Model DQSR 483) Drum works but does not heat

There are three things besides what you aleady checked:
1. Open the small access door in front of the dryer and start the heat cycle. The ignitor must glow a bright orange so that it is hot enough to light the gas. If there is no orange glow, then the ignior needs replacement.

2. If it glows then cuts off, then glows, again and cuts off, the thermocouple sensor wire is out of position. It needs to be very, very close to the ignitor. This thermocouple sends a temperature signal when it senses that the ignitor is hot enough to ignite the gas. Unplug the dryer. Re-position the thermocouple wire mount so that the thermocouple wire is almost touching the ignitor. You may also "bend" the wire. Plug power back on and heat.

3. If it still does not heat, then the automatic gas valve that is controlled by the thermocouple sending unit is broken. The automatic gas valve cannot be safely "fixed" and must be replaced.
Hope it's just the thermocouple wire.

Ge dryer not venting

You have a bad blower motor. Best to call GE Factory Service to repair as there is probably still some kind of warranty on at least the part and it is easy for us (GE Techs) to replace but not easy if you have never replaced one. 30 minute job for me to do... GE 1-800-432-2737
