Question about LG 24 in. LDS 5811 Built-in Dishwasher

We have an LG lds5811ww dishwasher with IE error

We have an LG lds5811ww dishwasher and we are getting an IE error. Looked it up and says its a water inlet problem. Cleaned everything out, checked hose, all good, Sounds like water is getting into the machine, but after about a minute the cycle stops and the error shows up again. Help please and thank you.

The machine is filling with water...no problem with water inlet. The IE error code then comes on...and when I checked the tub the water level seemed to be quite high, it was "lapping at the edge of the door". Perhaps the error code was coming on in order to shut off the water input? Perhaps there is a problem with the water shutting off at the right time? Also....when I restart the machine, it begins by pumping out the water in the tub, then begins to fill once again until the IE error code comes on again. Does this narrow down possible problem? Thank you.

Check for voltage at the water valve when it should be filling Try disconnecting the Water Valve outlet from the DishWasher and run the output into a bucket if all is well with the valve then remove the door panel and inspect the wires near the bottom of the door. the wires get buried in the tar like insulation causing the wires to break as the door is opened and closed. That tar like substance is one of the worst things they could of ever put into that machine causes the wires to break apart adn become brittle

Yes. If you disconnect the water line from the dishwasher you will see a screen inside the inlet to the water valve. This should be a Fix-Ya for your dishwasher. Thanks for the question.

I have a LG dishwasher model # LDS5811WW is there a filter of some sort at the water intake? My water has be known to have sand in it . The dishes are not all washing some are some aren't.

No filter in these units. It is possible that sand has gotten into the sump assembly and is not allowing the vario motor to properly switch between the upper and lower spray nozzles.

According to the owner's manual it's a 'water input error'. You have to check for a kink or clog to the water hose running to your machine.
