Hello Eric, you will not found free LG KU990 Viewty unlock code even you asked from vodafone. You can get lg unlock code from buying at online unlock code store or you can make request to vodafone about that unlock code. Once again eric there is no free unlock code, vodafone still take a charge from you up to $85 and you need to wait for a couple of week.

How To Unlock Your LG Viewty KU990 1. Boot up your LG Viewty phone with the original SIM card in.
2. Bring up the LG Viewty keypad on the screen.
3. Now type, 2945#*990#.
4. Next, a menu will pop up and select SIM unlock.
5. Enter your unlock code.
6. Your LG Viewty KU900 should reboot automatically and your done!
And now you have yourself an unlocked LG Viewty mobile phone. If you do not have an unlock code, you should probably try to contact your phone carrier first. Many websites suggest paying for an unlock code, but I feel this is unnecessary.

Also, I am in Australia and using Telstra 3G sim from a prepaid Sony Ericson. Bought an LG Ku990i from Japan as well but the LG phone is only picking up 2G. I have contacted the seller only to be told its the sim.
Any help?
