Its more likely the fan itself has burnt out each universal control comes with a means to manually enter a code to if you have one with the manual you amy be able to set the ceiling fan frequency to a preset to be used if your fans remote is the issue

I think before trying to program it into another remote you make sure in whatever way you can that the fan itself can be turned on manually by hand so you know that it is not the issue

hope this helped

My Hampton Bay ceiling fan runs only on high speed and the remote has stopped working even after changing the batteries. Does Hampton Bay have a life time warranty?

Yes, look up www.hamptonbay.com and get their contact number from them. It sounds like your transmitter (Remote) has failed. If it were the receiver the fan would most likely not work at all.

Hampton bay ceiling fan stopped lights work

you can test the light switch by temporarily hooking up the light bulb to where the fan normally goes ....the bulb will only work on the highest speed setting but can prove if the switch is bad or not . turn power off before woking in there ... if you know someone with a volt meter then they could quickly test the switch for you .. they can also test the motor for continuity .. .. most of the time the trouble is simply bad connections inside the wire nuts ... like insulation not skinned properly or wire not in the wire nut properly ..you can remove and inspect each connection (power off of course) ... sometimes there is a seperate power line for the fan and light ... so they can be independently controlled externally ... thats not needed when the pull chains are the only off on method ...

Changing the light in a 54shrl

Redington III. The remote receiver is integral to the light kit. There is no replacing the light kit, you can, however change out the glass, but you're stuck with what you got.

Ceiling fan with light and remote stopped working

It's most likely the receiver for the remote (transmitter) -- it's located under the cover at the top of the fan -- will need replacing.

Hampton Bay Remote

You must use the switch on the fan itself.
