You should really consider upgrading to Power DVD 8.0 or higher. You have more to worry about than PowerDVD giving proper drivers. You will need at least version 8.0 for HD, BluRay, and compatibuility with Windows 7. Think it over.
Hey hi. Cyberlink powerDVD will play all the dvds. But you just try playing the same dvd in other players like VLC media player and Media Player Classic. These are the two players available in the market which will play audio and video of all extensions. So just try playing the dvd with this. Still you cannot able to get the audio means, there might be the problem in the disc also. So go for another dvd and try playing it. This is how we need to sought out the problems.
I researched your issue too as I await your answer.
You have a SOFWARE ISSUE with Cyberlink Powerdvd ver. 8
The error message is a corruption with the software called powerdvd
You need to completely errase your power dvd sofware and reinstall the software.
Update the powerdvd after reinstalltion and update your windows and run virus scan and run your utility software just incase of rogue software impeding your dvd's player progress.
I imagine that it's trying to uninstall the older version to install the newer one, which it can't. NOTE: This is a desperate step. Delete the Cyberlink folder in C:\Program Files\; Go to Add/Remove Programs and attempt uninstall - it will say it can't uninstall, and ask you if oyu want to remove it from the program list. Click yes. Go to start->Search (or Find) and search for Cyberlink (make sure that Hidden and System files are being searched). Delete all Cyberlink files. Do the same, but with PowerDVD. Download and run CCleaner. Attempt to reinstall PowerDVD.
