Cal spa 3 years old. Water won't circulate/jets not coming on

I have a cal spa 3 years old. I turned off and emptied 6 months ago. Last night , I cleaned and refilled. When I switched the breaker on, I can get the spa temperature to registar and the light to work, but I can not get the water to circulate. My controls are light/water and Temp located as a touch option. When I press for the water to circulate, I hear a ''click'' but no action. My spa is an F-series, 4 seater. Help

if it is a used pump, these have a tendency to have a little rust. just get some pump pliers and rock the shaft gently back and forth. then plug it back in.

I would suspect that there is an air bubble trapped in the pump. Did you run the hose into the filter intake and confirm water was coming through the jets when you began filling?

Have you tried turning the temperature down. If so and still have problem shut breaker off, let cool completely and then drain the tank by connecting a water hose to it. Sediment tends to build up on the bottom. When finished disconnect hose, turn valve closed, let tank completely. Fill before turning breaker on.

Sounds like starter switch has failed in the motor. Since it is only 6 mo old, should be under warranty. You can wire it for high speed only and then it will start and run and keep the water warm, just a bit nosier. Possible that you can get a new switch if warranty is out, if you are up to changing it out. You will have to contact the motor manufacturer or their rep to order one.

This could be a problem with the main control board or CPU. It could be that there is moisture after getting onto it and causing the fault which may only need to be dried off. Otherwise the machine may need a new board. If main board is 5 years old, its probably had its day.

50 amp GFCI breaker trips after spa runs for 45 mins or trips after 5 mins if jets are turned on.10 year old cal spa. I found leaks and fixed all of them, but breaker still trips after same amount of time.
More than likely, it's the element. They begin to 'leak' small current as they get old and this will trip the GFCI

What state do you live in, what is the brand name and model number of the heater. If you live in a state that gets cold during the winter, call you local pool store and schedule a closing. If the pump is running and water is not circulating, most likely the pump lost prime or your filter needs to be backwashed, or there is some debris in the impeller.
