I understand that your door indicates it is open and
your washer will not operate. Try resetting the unit by either
unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately
ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle, confirmed the
latched is securely latched and verify if the washer will start. If the washer
will not operate then it possibly have a faulty door lock assembly or a
communication problem with the control board. At this point, it would be
advisable to contact an experienced appliance repair tech to assist further.
Because of the high spin speeds of front load washers, the doors are equipped with a latch and lock mechanism to prevent the door from being opened during the washers operation. These locks will often be actuated by a solenoid or wax motor to ensure they remain latched during the wash cycle. This model uses a two stage lock that latches the door when the load starts, and then when it is time to spin, the second lock engages to ensure the door is properly secured prior to beginning the spin. When this second lock engages, it also closes a set of switch contacts (the auxiliary door switch) telling the control board the door is closed and locked. If for some reason this switch is not closed, the washer will tumble during what would normally be the spin cycle until the entire cycle is complete.
dr means the door switch is not closed. Thus meaning the door lock assembly is bad and needs to be replaced.part number is 131763245 and price is $48.99
YOU MAY HAVE BROKEN THE BUTTON, A SMALL PIN LIKE PUSH BUTTON THAT PUSHES IN TO LET THE DOOR LOCK KNOW THE DOOR IS SHUT. YOU CAN USUALLY FIND A SMALL DIAMETER OBJECT LIKE WHAT IS IN A RETRACTABLE BALL POINT PEN TO SLIP INTO THE HOLE WHERE THE BROKEN PIN IS AS A TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT AND TO CONFIRM THIS IS ACTUALLY THE PROBLEM. IF IT IS, YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY FOR PERMANENT REPAIR. DON'T SLAM THE DOOR SHUT BECAUSE THESE PARTS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC AND BREAK EASILY!
If the washer fills with water, but will not start the wash cycle or spin, it is 1 of to things. the most common for frigidaire front load affinitys is the door lock assembly. I have had to replace numerous of these. if the door lock indicator is not on when it tries to wash, you need to replace the door lock assembly. if the door lock indicator is on, but wont wash, it is likly that you have a bad motor control board.
First check if u can close the door with no or less clothes and see if the lock is engaged.. else if u find the door not locking see if there is any garments or threads blocking it.
