We have an xante platemaker 4, if we create a box using Indesign 5.5w x 8.5h and print to the platemaker, the box is 5.437 x 8.5. It seems to be shrinking the box by 1/16". When we print to a standard printer, the box is the actual size. We have checked to make sure all the settings are at 100% but can't find the problem. Please help as we are doing prepress layouts and it has to be the exact size.

Try outputting a pdf of your document. Set up your page from the printer window and print from Acrobat Reader. Also check your network connection if you are on ethernet. AppleTalk work much better in mac osx tiger vintage mini mac. I have not tested all the printer drivers yet on the new mini mac Lion. But there is less of a compatibility issue if you convert your doc to a pdf file. Hope this helps. :-}

The other option is to use the web page of the xante to print, I do this using mac os 10.4, since it stopped working in the printer menu. Xante support is poor at the very least and sucks at its best.
