After self cleaning, the upper oven won't heat up, neither the lower element or the broil element. Lower oven still works fine.

Most likely a bad element. Turn off the power to the oven. Remove the racks.
Use a phillips screwdriver or 1/4 inch nut driver to remove the mounting screws at the back of the oven cavity to remove the element. Carefully pull the element out and remove the wires. Do not let the wires fall back into the holes.

Use a volt meter set for continuity. Touch one meter lead to one terminal on the element. Touch the other meter lead to the other terminal. If you get NO reading the element is bad.

A new element will correct your problem.

If the element reads as good you have a wiring problem or a bad control.

It is common to have the broil element pulse on or they will send 120 volts to the broil element to even the heat in the oven. Some ovens have a preheat function that will power the broil and bake simultaneously until the oven reaches temperature then the broil element will shut down. If they both stay on red continuously through the entire bake process then something is wrong. Probably a stuck contact on the control.

My bottom oven ( non-confection) will not go on-it will just sat 100 degrees but won't get warm or hot. Top seems to be working fine. This started after I tried to use the self cleaning feature.

If broil and bake do not work on your bottom oven, it is probably your lower thermistor or control board. If the bake works but broil doesn't or broil works and bake doesn't, it is very likely your heating element. With an ohmmeter, the heating elements should be about 40 ohms. Much higher or lower signals a problem. If you suspect the control board is the problem, they can be repaired quickly and reliably at www.fixyourboard.com

Heating element on upper oven of a wall Thermador Oven

The control switch may be bad on it. If there are 2 elements on the top, they both are not bad at the same time.Check to see if the wires have not burned off the control switch first. Check to see if your breakers are O.K. Turn them both(maybe 3) off and then reset.

Delonghi range oven

Bake- Normal convection- both upper and lower heating elements.

Conv. Bake- Semi-forced convection- both upper and lower elements, heat is then distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Broil- radiation- The heat is radiated by the ifrared broil element.

Broil & Fan- Radiation and Ventilation- The radiated heat from the infra-red broiling element is distributed throughout the oven via the fan.

Electric Oven doen't heat

cdkd, there should be a TC0, on the back of the oven. Thermal cut out. You want to check to see if it is open. You will have to pull the oven out enough that you can remove the back panel cover and check it. The lower and upper oven should have one. It's a very cheap part to replace. If this TCO fails, no heat. Check this first before buying a new board. Catriver..post back.
