you log into the router via an Ethernet connection, and go into security, generate your "Key" and save it to a notepad document, then save the configuration, and exit. now at the "Client" PC, when you try to "Access" the SSID, network, you will be asked for the "Key" copy paste the key saved on a USB flash drive, or written down, and you should now be able to connect. manual and support at link below. Open the Router Setup by typing 192.168.2.1 on the address bar of Internet Explorer

On the Left Hand side Under internet wan Click DNS

Uncheck the option Automatic From ISP

Type the Following DNS Addresses there

4.2.2.2 , 4.2.2.3

If it is not working you may need to upgrade the firmware of the Router from www.belkin.com/support

If you can access the configuration page of your belkin router you have to copy the MAC address of your computer to the router. The router has the capability to clone the MAC address. It's because if you have a cable internet connection the MAC address is registered in the server.

Go to the setup page for the router (IP 192.168.1.1) and set up the WPA-PSK [TKIP] security. It will allow fairly simple setup, and only provide the pass code to house members.

well first off you should plug a cat 5 cable into the router, login into the router and see what the ssid is and change it to your own so you know which one you are logging into, then check the security settings if it says none then you are not secured

go to router configuration page in that wirless is there option in that seciurty option is there then give the wep or wpa option then give the password then save it re-try it to connect

Try geting a routher that featres wirless and eathernet so you do not have to have two boxes. You will have to know its ip adress enter it internet explore and then you will be able to protect it through there.

Of course you've clicked "refresh" wireless network list? Go to the working computer and in a DOS box type IPCONFIG /ALL to find the gateway address for the router. ( Or refer to your wireless connection utility ). I will probably be 192.168.0.1 for example. In your browser address line put HTTP://192.168.0.1 and click the arrow. You should be talking to the router now, default id and/or password is typically ADMIN. Go to wireless settings and make sure SSID broadcast is turned on. Also note the SSID name, encryption type ( WEP, WPA, etc ) and note the key, if any. You now have enough information to connect the second computer. Yeah, this is complicated.
