Remote quit working - new generic remote works periodically, however, doesn't have all the buttons necessary to change btwn Game and TV.
I do suspect a sensor problem as the remote works intermittenly.Remote quit working - new generic remote works periodically, however, doesn't have all the buttons necessary to change btwn Game and TV.

Google the model number of remote and the set for "manual" which should have possible codes.
With the manual for the remote look to see if it has a search mode which will allow you to try every possible code one at a time to find one that works.
Universals even if programmed will be missing key features the original remote had.
Try this method:
Turn on the device you want to program.
Press and hold CODE SEARCH until the indicator light lights then release code search.
Press and release the device button you are programing TV, the indicator light will blink once then remain lit.
Press and release OFF/ON until your device turn off.
you may have to press upto 200 times
When your device turn off press enter button the indicator light will go off, good luck.
If the manufacturer of the universal remote cannot give you codes for the Symphonic you are out of luck. U will either have to get an original replacement or get a Harmony universal remote.
Go to Radio Shack and get an universal remote control, mine is a Phillips Universal and just program it to your tv. It has a tv/vcr input to let you switch to the right "input"/channel.
usually the universal remote comes with a code book. if you're TV is not on it the remote won't work. But most TV's are on there. If you can't find the TV, go to the ORIGINAL COMPANY of the TV. (RCA, Samsung, etc.)

My remote quit working too and I can't get it onto game mode so that I can watch movies on my DVD. What can I do?
