They should be able to help. I would try calling first, to avoid paying the $12 to retrieve the combo, but with the serial number of the safe, they SHOULD be able to help you over the tele.

may have been 8 bucks , but it's 12 bucks now.

check out www.sentrysafe.com ,

look on right side menu for "keys" and/or "combination" .

just keep trying and it will open. i had to try like 20 times the other day and it finally opened. good luck because these safe's are junk !

If you have lost the combination you need to follow detailed procedure needed to retrieve the key from Sentry. For security reasons there is no other way to get a master combo.

Need factory code for Sentry Safe Model 1610 - know its 5 digits but cant remember - never changed it from factory code but cant find the darn owners manual!

Take the safe to a safe specialist in your area. They have a way to open the safe. Because safes are meant to be SAFE - codes are not divulged.

Sentry Model 1610 Won't Open
I have a different model but I had the same problem. Called customer service and they had me push up on the handle and enter the code. That didn't work but then they had me tap the safe with a rubber mallet 5 times above the panel and 5 times to the right of the panel. That worked for me. Hope one of those works.

Changing the combination

All you have to do is press program & type in the factory code 2 times & that will erase the number you created.

Then to add a new combination all you have to do is: press program followed by 5 new numbers. Then to see if they new number works, just type in the new combination & the green light should come on & you have 4 seconds to turn the handle
