Are you sure that you have the good color wheel for the LIGHT ENGINE install in your tv. Samsung use different version of light engine who had their own color wheel.

100% this tv problems it is the tv colors wheel it is defective require replacing.The loud tv buzzing noises sounds are the sounds came from the tv wharp colors wheel it is spinning out control wildly and off of it motor axis and by hitting it to the wall of it steel box holding it.The tv distorted colors pictures are came from out of the reflections of a badly worn out of the tv colors wheel.
Check if instructions with color wheel show a jumper on DMD board for an upgraded bearing-type of color wheel. Jumper hole would be on rear-facing shield of DMD board. (Standard 2-pin jumper used on computer boards.) Probably would have to remove jumper; not insert it.
There is a jumper on the DMD board. It is there due to 2 different versions of color wheels out in the market. It is usually on the right side of the DMD (looking into TV from the back). You don't have to remove the light engine, just the rear cover. Use needle nose pliers to pull out the jumper. It should look something like this: I hope this was helpful.
If you have had this unit for awhile it could just be the lamp. If the image does'nt brighten up you may have an issue with the light path. The color wheel produces the color. If there was an issue with the color wheel you would most likely have a black and white image.
I also have a Samsung HLP6163W 61in TV,had the same problem had to replace the color wheel. Went on youtube showed us how to do it our self. Saved a lot of money very easy. Good luck!

Ours was on the color wheel. I also went to samsungparts.com and entered my tv model number and we could veiw the color wheel. However, the one we needed is back orders . I hope your is not.
