I turn on my samsung impression and the start up screen shows up, but then it goes blank. When i touch the screen i can feel the response vibrations but the screen is blank as if it was locked. If i plug in the usb cable it shows up the option screen for a second then goes back to being blank.
Screen is prob damaged & needs replacing?

The flex cable of your phone is damaged. Send the Phone to Samsung for repair or go to a local repair shop to have the flex cable replaced.

some time it happens. touch phone screen has always two things first L.C.D means screen and touch panel which is the top of the L.C.D. if your phone touch is not working it could be the touch panel is gone damage. it happens when if you dropped your phone on floor and when its water or liquid damage. you need go to any samsung service centre or any phone repair shop

2) settings
3) sound profile
4) tap silent
5) tap on call alert type and choose mute and then tap on save.
6) then save.

might be that you have a lot of files stored on the phone
simply turn ont he phone without the sim and dial *2767*3855# then after the power cycle put your sim card back
