Samsung HLR5067WX 50" Rear Projection HDTV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 26, 2010

I have a Samsung HLR5067WAX/XAA 56 inch, rear projection. Replaced lamp on it two years ago, was working fine. This morning a sudden thunderstorm blew in. When the power came back on, the cable picture looks kile green and pink plaid. The TV Guide Screen came in fine. After unplugging the set and letting it sit, I plugged it back in, the cable and DVD picture still scrambled, and it started to make a high pitched whine. Had to unplug TV from wall because the Off button would not work. What can I do to fix this?

Hi,If your tv is a dlp you might be experimenting a color wheel problem. The color wheel is a rotating disc that has a gamma of colors it spins at high rpms. The light of the lamp goes through it to create the colors on your tv.When it starts to go bad you will get color distortion ,black and white picture and sometimes you will hear humming noises. Here's the instructions to replace it http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp96-01579a.php and your part # is BP96-01103A Have a bless one!

These sets are known for this issue when the digital board goes bad. Do your on screen menus look normal? if so then i'm 99.9% sure it's the digital board.

Samsung 56 inch lcd tv..picture suddenly got darker not clear anymore....what can it be??

I belive this is a rear projection tv and if the picture has gotten darker.... most likely the problem will be in your TV Lamp.

My samsung HLR5067WAX/XAA picture is getting darker slowley but surely

The 120 Watt lamp is probably losing High pressure Sodium and will need to be replaced. Lamp Code BP96-00826A (P120W)
Would be the first thing to replace.

I suspect that you may need to replace the ballast for the lamp and the power supply board.

White dots on screen of 50 Samsung DLP

Random dots or pixels failing on a DLP TV will be a bad DMD chip. This is a technician replace item only. The chip runs around 160 dollars list price. The part number will depend on which version the set uses and will be determined by the technician.
