I have an Icon 26cc line trimmer and because the spark plug is very old, the number has worn off. Could you please supply the correct number for me. Thank you. Andy.

Install the new or cleaned spark plug with
0.5~0.7mm electrode gap and reassemble
completely before use.
This engine uses a L6RTC with 0.5-0.7 mm
electrode gaps (Or Champion: RCJ6Y,CJ7Y,
RCJ7Y, RCJ8, RCJ8Y or NGK: BM6A, BMR6A,
BPMR6A).
Use a suitable replacement and replace once
a year.

I have Poulan Pro Gas Blower. Having DIFFICULTY STARTING. Any suggestions? What is the correct spark plug? I have replaced the old plug with a Champion CJ 6, but not the same model plug. Would that

A hotter or colder plug would really make it difficult to start, but you should put the correct plug back into it, it should probably be a projected nose plug possibly a cj7y, poor starting can be a number of issues but always start with the easy less expensive checks first,
Is the choke flap closing properly.
Is the fuel in the tank fresh not stale.
Set the plug gap to 0.5mm
Does the machine have ample compression, you can remove the muffler and check the condition of the piston face through the open port, any signs of scuffing and further investigation will be needed.
Is the air filter clean.
Hook the fuel filter out of the tank and replace with new.

What is the difference between Champion RCJ7Y and CJ7Y Champion spark plugs. The first one is the recommended one for Poulan 4218AVX. Are there any other spark plugs available for this model?

The RCJ7Y is a resistor plug and CJ7Y is a non resistor plug. Other makes of the same plug are.
Bosch = WSR5F
Autolite = 2974
NGK = BPMR7A or BPMR7Y and 4626

You could use the CJ7Y but really need to fit a resistor type spark plug cap to the ignition lead.

Need do know the spark plugs gap

If you're replacing the spark plugs in your car engine, you'll need to set the gap before reseating the spark plug. The gap is the distance electricity arcs between the ground electrode and center electrode. The gap must be set correctly to ensure maximum performance. Here's how to set the gap of a spark plug.

  1. Remove the spark plug wires. Use a socket wrench to remove the spark plugs from their chambers.
  2. Clean the spark plug if you are not replacing it with a new one. Remove all dirt and debris from the spark plug.
  3. Check the owner's manual for your car (or any appliance with spark plugs) to find out the recommended gap setting.
  4. Use a gap tool to check the gap of the spark plug. Slip the tool between the ground electrode and center electrode. The gap tool should fit snugly at the recommended gap width indicated on the tool.
  5. Push the tool between the electrodes a few times to ensure proper gap. If the gap is too wide, push the ground electrode firmly against a flat surface to narrow the gap and then check again with the gap tool.
  6. Repeat Step 5 as necessary until you reach the correct gap. Reseat the spark plug and reattach the spark plug wires
Good Luck
