Hi there,

Format your Nokia 5233 by first turning off your mobile phone.

Then press the following buttons simultaneously (at the same time):

Power button + * + 3

This will jumpstart your phone into turning on as if it were for the first time straight out of the box.
Everything will be deleted on the phone and set to factory settings (messages, contacts etc will be permanently erased).

    friend if u hv internet connection then download sd backup from m.mobile9.com .then use that software as wipe .after 2 minutes pull the battery out & watch the magic .

    1.- Basic Reset or Soft Reset
    This option restores the .ini files from the ROM.
    Does not erase data (photos, videos, documents) or applications from
    a third party. Key Code *# 7780 # (click this combination of keys on the keyboard in the mobile)

    2.- Total Reset or Hard Reset
    This option restores the original operating system from the ROM.
    Formats the C: partition and deletes all data including the memory
    card. Key Code *#7370# (click this combination of keys on the keyboard in the mobile)The dafult lock code is 12345 if u havnt changed it

    my nokia 5233 mobile is unable 2 read sim memory.since ths problem it stays in offline mode when im trying it 2 get it back 2 general mode its asking 2 insert sim.even the sim is alredy inserted.the sim is working normaly on other phones.plz suggest solution for ths...!!!!!

I think my phone is infected by virus bcoz when i switch on the phone the error show "phone start-up failed contact the retailer." my phone model no.nokia 5233 plz give the solution for it...

Hello !Do you think that after you format the memory card the virus will gone ? No, I don't think so because if the virus is infected to your phone this will not help.OK anyway Open the Memory Card folder (not from the file manager) I don't know the exact place but try to open from (tools>> utilities) Option and there you'll see "Format memory Card".That's all you need to do.Good luck thanks for visiting fixya

Virus has been infected to my mobile and want to format it.
You should be able to open the mobile phone up onto your computer with a usb cable, I think it is called Nokia Data Manager err somthing like that which is what I use for my n95 8g, and then you should be able to format using that. Another way is to take it to a Nokia service place where they can format it for you.
