It worked for me, for the wireless drivers, I installed those for d520 as the ones for d510 didnt work.
I recently downgraded my Latitude 510 back to XP and now I cant get online to download all the drivers that I need! I have no Internet access whatsoever!!!! These are the drivers that are no longer installed! Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, Network Controller, PCI Modem, Video Controller, and Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Can someone please tell me what to do, because I am at my wits end on this!
You can obtain all of these drivers by going to the Dell support site or using the original drivers and utilty;s disk that came with your unit. If you don't have the CD with these drivers, my suggestion would be to use a wifi connection to get on the net and download the drivers. If you have a wireless wifi adapter integraded (already inside your computer) it may pick up the wifi signal. If not see if you can borrow a wireless USB wifi adapter with the software CD, install this software, plug in the USB adapter and go to a hotspot where you can get a wifi signal. Once your there , go to Dell and download all the correst drivers you need for your ethernet and other stuff. You should write down your laptops key numbers before, because Dell will ask for this. Otherwise you may also try doing a restore to an earlier period on your unit and go back to the old operating system, or check for the prior system in the system where it made a new partition for the new windows and go to your old operating system by way of the selecting which partition you want. The easiest way would be to just get online via wifi though, download the drivers you need and then your set. If you need ant further assistance I don't mind helping , you can email me at [email protected] and I'll help walk you through this. One more thought is perhaps going to Dell and burning the ethernet driver off on a CD with another computer and then install it on your unit that needs it. After that you can go back on that unit and get all the other drivers you need, which is quite a few with Dell, but easy to download.
