A wallcharger with USB A female port, with an output of 5v and 500mA (also you can buy one with an output of 5v and 800mA, 1A, 2A,...it doesn´t matter because the Archos only will take those 500mA)

yes it is compatible but the remote wont work for Archos 504. also, u'll require saddle for 504(usually comes as part of package). dont try to put your archos on the dock without a saddle.
