No audio on vizio from source

Using the hdmi2 rca audio input from a laptop stereo headphone output, I cannot hear any sound. Is there a setting in the Vizio itself that adjusts the hdmi2 imput audio besides the main volume?

There should not be a special setting that you need. When hooking the analog audio to the HDMI 2 input, it should read automatically. Note: The HDMI Input is for HD Video and will only support 640x480 at 60Hz from a PC. Use the RGB
PC input for a greater selection of PC formats.

I have a Vizio model E320-B1. Does it have a head phone jack? I’ve looked all around and can’t find one.

Modern TV sets, including the Vizio models, don't have any headphone jacks. The only audio outputs are the red and white RCA jacks, and the special optical port (used for the sound bar). I recommend buying a cable set that has the red and white RCA plugs on one end and a headphone jack on the other end. You can ask Best Buy or any audio store for it.

After you attach the plugs and can hear the audio through the headphone, you must enter the "Menu" and disconnect the on-board speakers if you wish to listen only on the headphone. Read the user manual to do this.

A model TC-P42x60 and I need to use earphones. I have tried the audio outlets using a rca cord with a 3.5mm plugged into a set of earphones, that does not work.

There are no audio outs on your TV The digital audio out is an optical output meant for a sound bar or a stereo audio amplifier that has an optical input. If you have a compatible stereo system you can use an optic cable to connect the two and then use the headphone jack on the stereo system.

Is there a input for external audio speakers?

There's usually one audio input associated with each video input or source.

So - if you're on AV1 - then the audio will be taken from the AV1 / SCART socket. If you're on HDMI2 - then audio from HDMI2.

Quite often, either 'PC' or 'VGA' input (15 pin like a computer, or DVI) will have an audio input on a 3.5mm stereo jack (like a headphone plug) - this may help you.

I have an older home stereo system that i would like to connect to my vizio tv. I have a 3.5mm audio to rca plug. Coming out of the headphone jack on the tv, it plays no sound out of the system. Although...

I suspect what you're wanting to do is take the audio output from the TV and run it through your stereo system to leverage the large speakers. Correct?

I suggest using the RCA audio jacks (red and white pair) on the back of the TV. Most TV's still have these. Some are tied to a specific component, and some are general for all sound coming out of the TV. You connect this to the input RCA jacks on your stereo system.

The headphone jack on the TV could also work, but I suspect it may have a low level output. I don't understand how you say your MP3 player plays fine through the headphone jack, as that's an output, not an input. Unless there's some other jack?

NEED INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOOKING UP WIRELESS HEADPHONES FOR VIZIO TV

From the manual:

1. Plug the stereo audio cable into the headphone jack of your audio
source (e.g., stereo, TV, CD player, DVD, etc.). If your audio source
has two RCA output jacks instead of a headphone jack, use the
supplied Y cable to connect your headphones to the two (red and
white) RCA jacks.
2. Connect the other end of the stereo audio cable to the AUDIO IN
socket at the back of the recharging cradle/transmitter.
3. Connect the AC/DC main power adapter to the DC IN power
supply socket at the back of the recharging cradle/transmitter. Then,
connect the adapter to an electrical outlet.
Important: This power unit is intended to be correctly oriented in a
vertical or floor mount position.

How do I connect my laptop to my Marantz SR5002 receiver

Typically, your laptop would have a headphone output if you want to SEND audio to the receiver.

Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input. Get a cable like the one described here:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2

and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono". Turn the source player volume up.

You may have to find the sound controls on the laptop to raise the volume high enough for the reciver to use.

The vizio e322vl headphone jack is not documented by Visio. There is an "Audio" spot next to "RGB PC" and I tried various jack sizes b none works. If you have a soulution, can you...

that audio jack is input only it is stereo jack to connect from the comptuer to the tv when using the RGB input. most headphone jacks if they are there would be on the side of flat panel tvs. otherwise the audio output may be digital(optical) or normal rca (red and white) that you can hookup to the headphone system.

Connected laptop to tv, but sound only come from laptop. How can I make the sound come out from tv?

If your laptop has a HDMI output, and your TV has a HDMI input, then use a HDMI-to-HDMI cable, which carries both "audio" and "video" signals.

Otherwise, you need a cable from the "headphone" output from your PC into the "RCA" stereo-audio inputs into your TV.

Hooking laptop to onkyo sr604 through hdmi no sound through stero

hdmi is video only

you will need to use the rca/phono inputs for audio.

you will need a stereo mini jack to steroe rca/phono

use the i/p marked aux/cd/

make sure the volume on the onkyo is turned DOWN before connecting any new input source.

The output from most laptops is designed for headphones so you may need to adjust the volume on the laptop DOWN as well.

Perhaps start off with laptop at 30% and the amp DOWN then increase the amp until you can hear the laptop sound.

To get good quality audio from a laptop you would be beter off with a USB sound card.

hope this helps, thanks for using FixYa
