there is a fuel problem somewhere. more likely the carburetor bowl has water or debris in it. clean it real good.

At the rear of the mower at the very back is a transmission disingauge lever, it may be set, this lever is so u can easily push the mower when it is not running...!

Sounds like you have a bad coil. You can try cleaning the rust and stuff off the magnet on your flywheel and see if it will start then and if not then your gonna have to buy another coil they shouldn't be to much.

Try tracing the positive battery cable from the positive side to the solenoid
to make sure those connections are clean and tight. Then from the solenoid to the starter. Clean and tight. Last of all please check the Ground to frame connection.

Hi, The first thing I always check for is fresh fuel (less than a couple of months old) old unleaded may well be fine in your car but low compression engines fitted to garden equipment need fresh fuel. next thing to check is that the choke flap is closing fully, dont rely on the position of the control lever, remove the airfilter cover and see that the flap is fully closed, if it's cracked open just a little bit it will stop engine starting ( unless the filter is really dirty) another thing to check is that the blade is tightly secured, on direct drive mowers the blade acts as a flywheel. did you hit an obstruction the last time you used it, if you did you may have sheared the flywheel key(poor spark on points ignition or good spark but timing out of sync on electronic ignition. hope this helps, regards Tony (England UK)

I have an Eager 1, as well and when I try to pull the cord it does not turn at all. It's stuck. I hit a tree root and since then I have had problems with it. I have 2 mowers so it was not used last year at all. Gas was drained and it was stored in a shed. Anyway, I know nothng about mowers other than spark plugs, gas, oil, sharp blades and filters. Is the motor seized? Thanks
