My computer will not pull up pictures off my 2gb sandisk sd card.

The problem only started a few weeks ago. when I put the card in it would normally pull up a option bar of sorts. Then I would choose how to view pictures at that point. Now it does nothing. When I pulled up windows media player to manually view pictures they were all there but had a fake cartoon picture/drawing on all the slides, like a default or something. I have a pc hp laptop. Thanks

Hi! Maybe what you're talking about is the 'Autoplay' feature of the computer. Autoplay can be disabled at some times so you cannot see it, or Autoplay only displays a view picture 'icon' when there is/are picture/s on your 2gb sandisk sd card.

To manually view your pictures, you can follow this steps:
1. Head on to your computer by clicking Computer on the Start Menu.
2. From there you can see an sd card icon that displays your inserted 2gb sandisk sd card name.
3. Click that icon, then from there you can see and browse the files on your 2gb sandisk sd card, including your pictures.

Click Helpful if this fix your problem :) It would be a pleasure.

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.

Canon Power Shot SD450 Digital Elph camera started to say "no memory card" when there is Sandisk 2GB in there? What can i do?

2 things the memory card and the recovery of your files.
Your camera was produced in 2005 and in those days only MMC and SD cards could be used. A few years later the SDHC came and 2011 SDXC came. devices are downward compatible. So newer cameras can use also SD cards. But older cameras can't use newer memory cards. Even a SDHC can't be used in your camera. And although I managed to buy a 4GB SD card a few years ago, now they only produce SDHC and SDXC cards. Yes be aware a 1 GB or 2 GB card now ar most of the time SDHC.
Check your card, when it says SDHC, don't try to us it, it won't work.

Then the photos from your parents. It looks we never have taken enough pictures.
When you have old memory cards, please don't use them till you checked if there are still "deleted" pictures on them.
Deleted is most of the time just clearing the pointers to the files. The files in most cases stay on the card.
Try to download some software from this site:
Memory Card Data Recovery
Then run the software, when you have a memory card in a memory card reader and see if it can find "deleted" pictures. Be aware when you use a card with "deleted" pictures, the space that came free, will be used to put new pictures there. SO don't use the cards till you did recover everything to the computer.

There are more free recover program's. I have one form Sandisk, I got it for free with a sands memory card. Login on that site to and see if they still have free program's for Sandisk users.

I put my sandisk into the front of my computer, and my computer hasn't yet recognized it. How do I access my pictures?

As stupid as this sounds, make sure the micro SD is in the correct slot and fits snugly. If you find that you don't actually have a micro-sd slot, you can purchase a piece that the micro-sd goes into creating a disk that's SD size.

If that's not the problem, go to Start > Computer > and look for the removable storage device. If it shows up, dbl click on it and see if your pictures come up.

If that doesn't work, you may consider buying an external card reader that connects using a USB port on your computer. That should work. If not, there is a strong possibility your micro-sd is corrupted.

Missing pictures

Lets check the SD card first.

Take out the SD card and put it in external card reader connected to computer.

Copy/transfer all the photos from the SD card to computer.

goto My Computer and right-click the 'Removable Disk' (the SD card drive) and click Properties.
click Tools and click Error checking - Check now button
select the option 'automatically fix file-system errors' and click Start button.
if any errors was found and fixed, you can also Format the SD card. And your SD card should not drop photos again.

Now put SD card back in the camera.

Now take 20 test photos and check if something is missing.
if not take 20 more test photos and check if something is missing.
if all is ok then you can delete all test photos and start taking normal photos.

SD card rejection

I have seen SD cards go defective. Also, enquire to the manufacture of the camera or at least the dealer to make sure that the model of SD card that you have is compatible. I have seen compatiblity issues with particular SD card types on specific models.

SANDISK ULTRA II 2GB CF PROBLEM

Hm, odd problem, I'd try reformatting the drive (Windows) My computer > Right click > Format. If the drive's corrupted, that could be causing your problem. But remember, formatting will erase ALL data on the drive, back it up before you try this.
