I'm having trouble with my Whirlpool washer, model# LSC8244BQ0. The only way to get it to fill up with water and wash is to set it to the ''6'' on the Regular, Normal wash cycle. If I want to wash the clothes for more than six minutes I'll have to go back to the washer later and put it back on ''6'' again. No other wash cycle works. (And I REALLY wish the Heavy Duty wash cycle worked because I use cloth diapers and want them really clean!) When it's done washing, the arrow will eventually move past Rinse and Spin without doing anything else. I have to turn the knob to the Permanent Press Extra Rinse Spin cycle to get it to spin. No other spin cycle works. When it's done spinning, I have to put it back on the ''6'' for the Regular, Normal wash cycle so the clothes can rinse. THEN I have to put it back on the only working spin cycle.
So what gives?

Hello, Your problem is going to be with your lid switch, this is located normally either in the control panel or about half way down on the right side under the lid. This is a safety feature to stop you opening the lid while the machine is in a high spin. Once you have located the switch trace the wires back to the wire harness in the control panel. Disconnect the lid switch from the wire harness and with an ohms meter check for condinuity on pin 1 & 3 (the 2 outside pins not the middle this is a ground) You should find you have no condinuity and should replace this switch. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike
