A very dim picture in this case may be damage to the power supply of the set---If a LCD set it may use back lights of some type--if not on or at full brightness the picture will be very dark.
If I was looking at this set I would open and check to see if voltage for the back lights is correct first.
If you are using component cables change them out. It sounds like they're faulty. Try another device like a dvd player on a different input with different cables to see if the picture is still too red or too green. If so then the tv needs servicing. If not you can rule out the television.
Hi,
Try going to the settings to adjust the contrast. Another possible problem might be the backlight is failing. In this case, you should get your warranty card out.

ensure the satellite receiver is turned on and the output from the satellite receiver is connected to the ant. in on the tv. on the remote control, press the tv button, then the menu button. from the menu, select settings, set input to ant. .
do this and let me know what happens so we can get this working
Heard back from Toshiba. They said to unplug the TV, wait at least 3 minutes, and then plug it back in. This should allow it to reset itself. Sounded too simple, but after doing just that the tv has worked fine for the last three days! Toshiba noted that if this didn't resolve the problem we should contact them to have a Toshiba Authorized service person come check out the tv. It worked for us, hopefully it'll work for you too. Good Luck
Hi albertogiler,
I am happy to help, you will need to attach a antenna to the tv to pick up OTA over the air signals, depending on your location you may be able to use a set of rabbit ears, I have provided a link to a site that will explain in depth.
