I have a sony ericsson k850i and i cannot access or send messages. when i try to open my inbox, sent box or drafts i am greeted by a message saying 'operation failed'. i have tried a master reset but this did not fix the problem
I have the same problem with the sms thing, what i did is master reset and choose reset all (prepare back up first). Just wait few minutes and for me it worked. But do me a favor, just email sonny ericsson and tell about this problem so they will start doing something about it.
My friend and i both did master resets and it solved the prob.. very annoying.

I did a master reset. It worked. Killed my games though (as expected if they were saved to the phone memory) even though they were on the memory stick :\

I had the same problem you need a software update. Go on the Sony Ericsson website and download the software then install with your usb cable. This fixes the problem.
Same. :( For me doing a master reset (including deleting the files) fixes the messaging problem, but I also get the same message in my applications/games and master reset doesn't fix that!
Ok so im sick of it doing the same thing aswel but wot ya have 2 do is master reset the fone its a complete pain but i have 2 do tht all the time, seemingly if you get your fone flashed it helps but i duno lol gonna try it or get a new fone. Still gotta say i love this fone, operation failed is the onli problem! Kirsty

This fixed my messaging Inbox problem. I think the problem may have originated from a Theme change. I have now gone back to the 3 Orbit (Default) Theme with background turned off partly to conserve battery life but to use less processing power and to hopefully confuse the stupid thing a bit less than it already appears to be. Just trying to get my settings back from the PC now and the crappy Sony software is having none of it. My Advice: Stick to Sony TV's. They're good.

there is an option in the phone to undergo a master reset of the phones memory, this will delete everything on the phone however the sim will remain untouched. This fixed the problem for me however it was a bit annoying and i reccomend backing everything up on your computer before hand.
