Power Save mode on, can not use computer

When I turn on my computer, my monitor screen is black, and when I press the little buttons (not the power on/off button) on the front of the monitor it states that power save mode is on and to either move mouse or press any key. When I do that, nothing happens, the screen continures to be black.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. For whatever reason the computer is now working properly. I turned it off for about 15 minutes and restarted and it seems to work fine now. thanks again

First, try the monitor on another computer to see whether the monitor, or the computer, has a problem.

If your computer is indeed running, simply unplug your monitor from the wall, and then plug it back in. This will bring your monitor out of power save mode instantly.

I have a Dell Dimension e521 desktop that has gone into energy save mode after I ran Norton security check.. Pressing any key or clicking the mouse doesn't do anything. The screen is black and says...

you may find you have the screen resolution set to high, try changing to 1024x768 and try again. if this works it means your monitor ain't up to the job of your better machines.

FPD1930 gateway monitor powers up then a small box saying power save mode appears then it just goes black what's wrong with it

Hi. power save mode being displayed by the monitor could be caused by 3 things.
1)VGA cable to monitor is unplugged - check connections at computer and monitor
2)video card has been partially dislodged from motherboard socket. -remove computer cover and ensure video card is firmly pushed down into motherboard socket - do not use excessive force.
3)Monitor does not support video settings on the computer. - to fix on PC, turn on computer and press F8 button a few times during bootup - Windows will go to bootup screen - select SAFE MODE and hit enter. follow onscreen instructions - dont worry about weird colours and huge desktop icons - this is simply to get you going. Right click on desktop, select PROPERTIES>SETTINGS TAB. select screen resolution 1024*768 0r lower, select Apply or Ok. Now restart your machine

I don't know if there is a monitor with a function button to turn off the power save mode.
As far as I know the power save mode of the monitor can be found in the display setting of the windows..

Anyway... If you want to turn off the power save mode of the monitor via windows display setting then here is what you need to do:

On control panel, double click display settings.. click the screen saver tab... on the lower portion Press the "power" button.. Select power schemes tab.. Change the settings of" turn the monitor off" to "never"
Click apply and then OK..

Hope it gave you an idea..

My monitor shuts down after one second.

Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean that your Dell computermag-glass_10x10.gif has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display settings.
  1. Step 1 Press any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your Dell computer tower or laptop.
  2. Step 2 Press any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
  3. Step 3 Enter your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
  4. Step 4 Change the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press "Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the drop-down list and press "Apply."

My computer(a dell) is stuck on save power mode

The reason your computer is in power save mode is because the little battery inside your tower is going dead. It needs to be replaced. It is a small battery about the size of a nickle inside your tower. Change the battery and it will solve your problem.

Monitor not receiving data from computer?

If you did not hear any beep from your CPU, then the problem is in the system not the screen.
Try connecting the screen to another computer and try also a working screen of a friend to your computer...
You'll find out that either the screen or the computer...

Good luck... post me back for your result.
Don't forget to rate too.
Thanks...

Nothing appears on the LCD screen. What should I do?

The camera may have shut off automatically to save power. Press the POWER button to turn it back on. Also make sure the mode dial is turned completely to the desired mode. When the camera is connected to a computer, the LCD screen is disabled. When it is connected to a printer, press any button to display the print progress screen. After a moment, it disappears again.
