Message from AIM: Your camera is already being used by another application. Please exit all applications that are currently using the camera and try again. Per the Task Manager, I can't find anything else running it. It works with the programs that came with it, photo, video and I can see a live image when I click on the icon in my computer, I can't get it to work on AIM.

Restart the computer and restart the application. This occurs with other applications that use the camera. Sometimes when the camera is used with another application it doesn't release the camera for use with a subsequent application. Restarting the computer had worked for me.

You have to have the video taken, and to do this the easiest way, (how I do it) I open the folder for the camera.
(My computer then the place where you pluged the camera in) then I go to the videos folder while in the camera folder, and then drag and drop the videos into ShowBiz.

How do I turn off permanently the PG application as it uses my camera constantly and whenever I want to use my webcam it says camera in use already and have to use the task manager to stop the application...

Hi there Ginny800,

Its quite easy to do this, you just have to know where to look.
Try the following....

1. Right click my computer.
2. Select Manage
3.Select Services.
4.Select Applications.
(there may be a sub tab called 'services' after you pick Applications...or not.)

5. Scroll down until you find the application that is using your webcam...which in this case is the PG App and then just double click it.
6. Use the drop down box and select Disable
7. Click Apply.

You can after doing the above choose to stop the program immediately or just exit out and restart your computer.

What will happen is that you have now prevented the app from starting when windows starts.

Job done! :-)

The scanner is not available while in use by another application or user i get this darn error. I use this scan multiple times a day and all of a sudden i see this.... why?

Hi,

The error message could be Twain Driver error or ScandAll pro Application error. Please go through the followings:

SCANDALL-PRO APPLICATION ERROR:

Error Code: [SA01020E] No scanner is found.
There is a possibility that no scanner is connected, the connected scanner is not turned on, or the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Status: [Scan] or [Select Scanner] is specified, but no connected scanner is found. Or, the scanner is currently used by some other application.

Action: Make sure that the scanner is connected and is turned on. If the scanner is currently used by some other application, use the scanner after the application ends. Make sure that the driver selected on the [Scan] tab of [Preferences] in the [Tool] menu is installed correctly.

TWAIN DRIVER ERROR:

-The scanner may be OFF or not connected. Check the power supply of the scanner or connection with PC.
-The scanner may be already in use by other application or the "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel].Close other application or "Scanner and Camera" in [Control Panel]

-The connected image scanner is not a model supported by this driver. No image scanner is connected. The cable is disconnected.Check whether the image scanner is connected.

-Another application may already be using the image scanner. Alternatively, the TWAIN driver may have been activated twice.Terminate all applications, and start scanning again.

Cant get to play farmville on my note book keeps tellin me 2 update flash player which a have tried several times and still wont work

I guess you have a Windows OS, so I will give you some advice concerning Windows OS. Propably there is something wrong with the Flash Player installation on your notebook.
I suggest you firstly, uninstall flash player using the Flash Player uninstaller from Adobe and then reinstalling Flash Player. Here are the steps to follow
1. Download Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from this link http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe and save it to your desktop.
2. Restart your computer
3. Exit all applications. Check the taskbar and the system tray to make sure that no user applicaiton are running. For example if you see icons for browsers or IM clients such as AOL Instant Messanger or Yahoo! Messanger, right-click the icon and select either Close or Exit. At the following screen you can see an example of how to close a system tray application (the application displayed is Digsby Instant Messanger) nikolas152.png

You have to close any running application that may be using Flash Player. Such applications are web browsers, Instant Messangers (MSN, Yahoo! Messanger, AIM, etc.), swf files, Projector files (.exe standalone Flash Videos or applications).
4. Run the uninstaller. If any message asking you for permissions to make any changes to the system pops up, allow it (Yes, Allow, Ok).
5. Restart your computer
6. Visit the Adobe Flash Player webpage and check if the Flash Player is uninstalled. If the Flash Player is not uninstalled you will see some information like this nikolas152_0.png
In that case repeat these steps to completely uninstall Flash Player. In case the Flash Player is uninstalled, then from that same webpage you can reinstall Flash Player.

Hi, my terminal Motorola MC3190 doesn't want to enable scanner and i really don't know why.... There is an error code A0000032 with message: "CANNNOT ENABLE SCANNER"

The scanner engine/output can be used only by one application. If a second application is trying to access the scanner, while in use. The error message will come.
Please check if there are more applications running in background. Usual MC9090 applications with scanner drivers are Telnet, Datawedge, Rapid Deployment and custom software.

Exit one of the application or try to exit all of them. Start your scanning application again, no error should appear now.

This message displays any time i try to access the camera. "could not start the camera. close other applications and try opening the camera again". please help.

Hi,

This is what you should do, press and hold the menu key.. you'll get a display in a rectangular form with all programs that are currently running on your blackberry.

You can scroll through the open applications and for you to close all running applications, you'll have to click on your trick ball to get you to that open application and then you close it.

Go over the process of holding the menu key for about 10 seconds again until the rectangular window opens with applications that are currently open.

Click on another program and close it.... do this for all the applications until your have about 4 applications running. Once it's reduced to this you would be able run your camera.

Hi i have a logitech quick cam for notebooks pro

Many webcams can only be accessed by one software package at a time. You have another software package that is currently using that cam, even if you aren't actively using that software. Do you have an Instant Message software application running? Or a video capture software? Check the TSRs (Terminate and Stay Resident) applications in your lower-right corner (assuming you're using a Windows software package), and turn off anything you don't need. Then try the webcam again.

I cannot see

Normal 0 See section D. AIM AOL Messenger in the info below to setup the Audio & Video.
Also send this to your family and friends so they have their computer setup properly.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
D. AIM (AOL) Messenger http://dashboard.aim.com/aim
  1. On the VIM sign-in window click on Edit.
  2. Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
  3. Next click on Enhanced IM.
  4. Then click on Audio Video.
  5. The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.
The Audi Video drop downs are
Microphone Speaker
Camera The audio and camera should function now.
Additional info to use with VIM settings.
Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings: In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Notes:
  • The first time you use AOL Live Video IM, a message will display: Would you like to first check your audio and video settings? Click the Yes button. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
  • images in AOL Live Video IM may appear reversed, or as a mirror image (text may appear backwards) when you look at your own camera feed or at the picture-in-picture (PIP) display.

A lot of issues.

AOL is a POS. If you have a mac you will already have AIM linked to it via an application called ICHAT. Open that application, and fill your details. It IS AIM for Macs. If you do not have ICHAT you can download it for free.

Exiting webcam applications

There might be some sort of background program running for the camera. In the bottom right of your screen, next to the time/date, right click and exit anything you're not using.
