My stovetop is locked out - there's a padlock icon on the display. I've fooled with it for an hour but can not get the lock out to turn off. Help!

Unlock oven door on model #FGGS3065PF

If the oven display is showing LOC, then the lockout feature was enabled. Press and hold the key pad with the padlock symbol for 3+ seconds. This is just below the Timer On/Off key pad and to the right of the Light key pad. You should see the word DOOR and the padlock icon flash until the door is unlocked and the control panel is released.

If the word DOOR and the padlock icon are lit, then the oven is in the self-clean mode. The lock should release after you cancel the self-cleaning cycle by pressing off and the oven cools down (at least one hour). Unfortunately, sometimes the heat of the self-clean cycle will damage the oven. Either the oven temperature sensor will not give the release signal or the door lock will not disengage. In that case, the oven needs to have the correct part serviced.

The documentation for the Frigidaire FGGS3065PF is available on the product page at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frigidaire-Gallery-30-in-4-5-cu-ft-Slide-In-Gas-Range-with-Self-Cleaning-Convection-Oven-in-Stainless-FGGS3065PF/204759413 . See page 15 for the Oven Lockout feature. See page 28 for the self-cleaning information.

I hope this helps.

All scanners come with the scanning head locked to prevent damage to it during shipping. On the back of the scanner, where the power cord and wires connect, there will be a sliding switch, sometimes a turning type lock, with two positions, one with the icon of a closed [so locked] padlock and the other with the icon of a open [so unlocked] padlock. Every scanner I have bought describes this lock in the setup manual.

Padlock icon

Many monitors have an on-screen display lock (the padlock icon) that seems to get stuck.
Various suggestions in the links below - the one that seems to work most often is to hold the monitor's menu button down for 15-20 seconds to get the screen menu, then either try unlocking the OSD (On Screen Display) or do a factory reset on the monitor.

Different monitors have slightly different menus, but if it's a Dell monitor you can find the manual below (under Display):

My kenmore W&R locked to start the cleaning process and never turned on, but now won't open. It's been 4 hours.

Verify that the Whirlpool oven is connected to its power source. The oven may sometimes lock down if experiencing a power surge or similar electrical problems. Additionally, check that a fuse hasn't been blown in your home's fuse box. Some older homes may not have the proper wiring to support a high-powered appliance such as a Whirlpool oven. If you are not sure if your wiring is sufficient, consult a local electrician.
  • Check to see if the Whirlpool oven's Control Lock has been turned on, a safety mechanism designed to lock the oven and disable its keypad and display controls. A padlock symbol will be displayed in the corner of the Whirlpool oven's front display panel if it is locked. The oven will not unlock itself on its own even if it is disconnected from its power source. To disable, press and hold the "3" button on the keypad for five seconds until the padlock icon disappears.
  • See if the Whirlpool oven is engaged in its self-cleaning cycle. During the self-cleaning process, the stove will lock its front door and will flash "OVEN LOCKED" on its front display. This is to prevent users from accidentally opening the oven and burning themselves during the high-heat segment in the cleaning process. If you must open the oven, first stop the process by pressing and holding the "OFF/CANCEL" button on the stove's control panel. If the oven remains locked, wait for the internal temperatures to decrease. The locking mechanism is temperature controlled and will not unlock until internal temperatures have cooled.
  • Contact Whirlpool's service department if your Whirlpool oven remains locked and you cannot troubleshoot it or open it. All Whirlpool self-cleaning ovens are covered for five years after the original purchase date. Call the warranty team for assistance by dialing toll-free (800) 253-1301 in the United States, or (800) 807-6777 in Canada. Be prepared to give the oven's model number and purchase date

I have a double draw dishwasher . the child lock key comes up and the dishwasher does not start

The lock button activates/deactivates the Keylock or the Childlock functions. This button has either a key or a padlock icon. I believe that on this model it is a padlock

    Keylock

The Keylock feature disables all the buttons on the control panel.

To activate, press and hold the button until you hear one beep (3 seconds). The symbol

appears in the electronic display when the Keylock feature is activated.

    Childlock

The Childlock feature locks the drawer and disables all the buttons on the control panel.

To activate, press and hold the button until you hear two beeps (5 seconds). The symbol

appears in the electronic display when the Childlock feature is activated.

To cancel the Childlock feature, press and hold the button until you hear one beep and the
symbol disappears from the electronic display.

This information can also be found in your product's Use and Care manual. If yours has been misplaced you can download or print one from Fisher and Paykel's website. http://www.fisherpaykel.com/customercare/userguide/index.cfm

If this doesn't work... And I've seen these units do some odd things. Try unplugging it for about an hour (if plug is not under sink you can turn of the breaker that powers the unit). Then plug it back in and see if that works. These dishwasher like many modern day appliances have solid state microprocessors in them which sometimes need reset just like a computer.

    Hope this helps.

What do; the four little lights below my keyboard mean? One is the battery, one is the internet, but the other two? Especially the third from the lert with the icon that looks like a stack of pancakes?

The icon that looks like a stack of pancakes is the one for the hard disk drive and the indicator with the icon flickers or lights whenever there is hard disk activity. The reading / writing of large files will cause the hard disk drive activity indicator to light almost steadily until the file reads / writes have completed. There are two icons that look like little padlocks. One has the character 1 and the other has letter A. The padlock icon with the 1 in the middle is the indicator for NumLk or Numeric Keypad lock. Pressing the Fn key and the key with NumLk on it turns the Numeric Keypad on and off. When it is on, pressing the keys for UIOJKL will enter 456123 facilitating entry of numbers with the keys arranged as a keypad along with the top row of keys 789. Finally, the padlock icon with the A in the middle is the Caps Lock indicator which lights when the Caps Lock key is pressed allowing subsequent presses of letter keys to be capitals without having to press the shift key. Pressing Caps Lock a second time turns off the Caps Lock. Similarly, a second press of Fn and NumLk turns off the NumLk.

Its a lock with an arrow circal round it near the battery icon

You phone has it's screen rotation locked so if you turn the phone on it's side the display does not automatically turn, great for reading in bed. Double clicking your home button so that currently running apps are shown then keep swiping these icons to the right until your iPod controls appear, you should see an icon with a circular arrow. Click this.
