CF Card I have an error message when I install my CF card. The message reads that there is a error on the CF card. I have purchased two new Sandisk CF cards and get the same message.

You need to format new cards in the camera before using.

It is locked by the previous device. You are not allowed to use it on other devices

Previous solution is the FAIL. Original poster says it works fine in _camera_, but not in _printer_. _Printer_ is the compatibility issue, not camera.

Hi! I just had the same problem with my Sony A100, when I tried two different CF cards. I was getting the same error message as reported above: "Unable to use card" then "Format?" then that format fails. Thinking the camera is broken, I checked online camera repair sites and also called Sony directly. Sony's flat rate, and that of PrecisionCamera is $228 to fix CF card failure. Then my daughter said, "the CF card in my room works fine in the camera" - and lo and behold - it does. The CF card that works is brand PQI and is marked Hi-Speed 60 2Gb. The cards that do NOT work are marked SanDisk Ultra II 1.0Gb and SanDisk 128 Mb. So my advice is, before you give up on the camera as broken, try a number of different CF cards first.

The second cause of CF failure is if someone has pushed a CF card in the wrong way. That can bend one or more of the tiny metal contact pins in the CF socket in the camera. Look carefully to see that all the pins are straight up. [I don't know how one can straighten these pins, or if the whole socket would need to be replaced...but at least you can determine the cause of the CF failure.]

It sounds like your Dazzle is not compatible with the sandisk. Maybe the Sandisk CF UltraII card have a new update software in it.

The card I have always been using is now also suddenly giving this message. I found an old SanDisk 16MB and a 1GB SanDisk that works perfectly in my Boss 864 and they also give the same message. Trying to go into formatting brings the message "no card!"

Throw the camera away I would guess.

In inserting the card the wrong way round you have almost certainly damaged or bent pins in the base of the chamber.
To confirm this shine a torch down inside and look and see.
If this is the case - there is almost certainly no repair option.
The hours cost of stripping replacing the unit and parts availability mitigate against repairing digital cameras no matter how expensive they are
