Connect LG 42LY95 LCD to Toshiba Laptop

I have a LG 42LY95 LCD TV and am having problems getting the correct picture when connecting to my laptop. The connection worked fine on my old tv but won't on this new one.

I have connected my laptop to the tv using a s-video cable to scart. (I have also tried s-video to s-video). The problem i get is the picture will only show in black and white on the tv.

I have tried to find setting on the tv but with no joy. The setting on my laptop is set to output to tv but will not show in colour.

Is there any setting i can change to get the picture in colour???

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hiran

Hi I've connected my laptop to my LG TV by S-video cable, but I get "not signal", I can't find s-video mode in my remote control, only I hav AV1, AV2 and AV3.

I've tried with my little TV as well and it does not work, this one has only AV1 and PC but I get not signal.

    Thanks

Hi Andrew.

The only way to connect your laptop to you TV is with a HDMI cable. If your laptop don't have a HDMI connector, you cannot do it. HERE is a picture of a HDMI connector.

How can I connect my laptop to my LCD TV through HDMI cable (brand:LG) (model:LF15 series) HD ready?

You'll need to make sure that your laptop & LCD TV have an HDMI port. If they both do, simply connect an HDMI cable from your laptop to your LCD TV and make sure the input on the LCD TV is set to receive A/V from the HDMI port.

Poor quality when connecting TOSHIBA laptop to LG LCD screen

It MAY be your connecting cable? Perhaps a higher grade or shorter cable may work for you?

Also check the MALE PINS inside the connector BODY! Make sure NONE are pushed in below it's mates.

Your laptop is causing this, not the TV. Perhaps there is a HDMI function menu on the laptop that you can change to correct this. If not, contact Toshiba directly, they can definitely answer the question.

I had the same issue with my laptop after I upgraded my video driver. Check on the Toshiba website for the correct display driver for your laptop and download it. Follow their directions and install it on to your hard drive. If it is the same driver that came with your laptop originally, the default settings should allow you to connect back to your LCD TV and get the proper display. If that doesn't work you will probably have to call Toshiba support and ask them for the default settings.

I want to connect my Toshiba Satellite A305-S6863 Laptop to TV

You have to configure yout laptop to output through the s-video (which does not carry sound, so you need to either use the laptop speakers for sound, or the line output (headphone jack) to the TV).
I don't know if all toshibas are the same, but with mine, if I hold Fn (near the windows key) and press F5, it will change the output, do it a few times until you see a picture on the TV, some settings make this your extended desktop, meaning you can drag a window from one screen to another.
