My Asko D1716 dishwasher works fine apart from the soap dispenser. It won't open to release the soap.

Most likely it's a corroded door catch or a bad solenoid. Hopefully it's not the main control board. You'll need a repair manual or technician. A work around would be to use detergent tablets in the compartment

The soap dispenser opens & the soap tablet (power ball) drops to the bottom but doesn't dissolve

1. Water temp is wrong should be 140-145
2. spray arms clogged with food
3. water valve is not letter the correct amount of water in

after it fill's check to see water amount in bottom , dose it sound like it is starving for water ? it would sound like it was surging

Dishwasher does not clean dishes. Some soap remains in soap dish. Have tried on the enrgy saver cycle and 1 hour cycle.

Hi jerry1413,

Firstly, make sure you are using powdered soap, and not the 3 in 1 tablets. The 3 in 1 Tablets only release certain parts of itself on certain temperatures, and because all dishwashers aren't alike, they won't have the best of results on all makes & models. Cycles aren't run the same way on every Make, and don't follow the same order either. Trust Me ;-) , stick to Powder.

Furthermore, check the following link for some advice and suggestions on getting your dishwasher to clean properly again:

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR DISHWASHER ISN'T CLEANING WELL ANYMORE...

Kind Regards :-)

I just bought a brand new dishwasher and the soap dispenser opens but the soap is still in the dispenser clamped up like sand. It doesn't happen every time. The same thing started happening with my old...

Try using the soap tablets instead. The frigidaire units use a small cylinder to actuate
the soap dispenser and if just a little too much soap is used the latch will bind and not
release. Alternatively, make sure the dispenser is only about half to 2/3 full if you need to
use powder detergent. This is a common problem with the frigidaire/ whirlpool/galax/kenmore
models. Hope this is useful.

My dish washer soap does not dissolve, whether or not I put the tablet or the pillow into the soap dispenser. Is it the soap dispenser door? Would hard water buildup create low water pressure so the soap...

The most likely causes are the you are using a tablet in a gel coating but putting the tablets into the dispenser drawer when the dispencer drawer is damp, thus causing the tablet to stick inside the housing; or, if the dispenser drawer is releasing the tablet into the bottom of the cabinet then I would say you have a problem with your water heater. In which case you would need an enginner to come and replace the heater.

Hope this is of help

Dishwasher soap dispenser does not release(sometimes partially)and as a result dishes are not cleaning

Hi,

the solenoide which pops open the soap lid may be faulty.

Better to poar your dishwashing powder or tablet in the bottom of the dishwasher tray until you get the machine repaired. You may want to do a prewash rinse first, then stop the machine and add your soap.

Make sure not to use too much soap. Just the normal amount as you would use in the soap dispenser.

Soap block not releasing while washing

I urge you to only use Electrosol or Cascade powder with your (or any) dishwasher. Most ultra-cheap powder will not clean effectivly. If the dispenser does not open with the powder inside, a service call is the next step.
If you reply, please tell me the Make and model of your dishwasher.Good Luck!
