The buttons on this machine are gated with a mechanical mechanism (under the buttons in the machine -= you can't see it) that acts as a "gate" to control how the buttons behave. This mechanism is probably stuck and needs to be looked at by someone with mechanical inclination - short of calling customer service for service locations. It shouldn't be that expensive to fix. Good luck.

Buttons Play or Play&Record will not stay gown

There is a feature, in a cassette recorder, when a cassette is "locked" to prevent it from erasure or record, if you break out a little notch on the back of the cassette When this is done, you can't press the record button. Perhaps something connected to that feature is blocking your deck. If the back pice of plastic left of the hole, is gone, the cassette is "write protected".
Look inside to see the "pal" that is in the deck.
Or perhaps your deck has a relais that should hold the button down, but it does not get any power? 6f4f166c-a584-4d29-9da6-e149a704708f.jpg

When I hit the record button my camera shuts down. The battery is fully charged, there's plenty of memory. It'll stay on while I watch a movie, but when I hit record the screen goes blank and shuts off...

Check and clean the battery contacts as this is sometimes the fault when the camera draws more power and due to dirty or poor contacts on the battery or the camera contacts the camera shuts down due to low power. Hope that works.

My Directv DVR receiver will not stay on it is blinking yellow??

Unplug it from the power for about 30 minutes and then try again. If it still doesn't work I would call DirecTV and discuss getting it replaced.

Recording button can't be pushed down any longer

1. PlayStation 2 systems do not handle tapes, but CDs and DVDs. No wonder you have broken it if you inserted a tape in it.
2. There is no radio in a PlayStation 2 system.
3. On a PlayStation 2 system, the button with a red dot on it is the power button, and it turns green when the power is on.
4. You cannot record, especially not on tapes, with a PlayStation 2 system.
5. You usually don't play a PlayStation 2 in the kitchen, but in the living room since it's meant to be plugged in your TV.

Here's the diagnostic : you do not own a PlayStation 2 system.
You have been ripped off by whoever sold you this piece of **** under the name of "PlayStation 2 system".
