We have an SUK91mx5 model. There seems to be electricity reaching the clock, the red light near the clock which indicates that the element is heating, and the ignition sparker. There is no power reaching the fan, grill or oven elements though ad no heat is being produced what is the problem and what spare part might be needed?

SOURCE: Smeg main oven failure

problem is almost certainly the circular element. these sometimes fail with obvious damage but not always. check continuity across the element to be sure. you are right about element fixing. there is no reason why the design should'nt allow removal from the front as many do but i suppose the guys who make these things don't have to fix them.

SOURCE: cooker not heating up

removed broken element and replaced it. You have to access the fixing screws from the back of the cooker to remove it

Hey there, Shouldn't be too difficult. Just two nuts to remove. If unsure about reconnecting wiring, draw yourself a little diagram clearly indicating the colours. Let me know if you are having further problems.

Sounds like you need a new oven element fitting.

Kenmore electric range with ceramic cooktop, model # 79046593500. None of the elements or the oven will heat up. The controls work, the red indicator light goes on, but no heat.

It sounds like your Frigidaire made kenmore may have a power supply issue, the power block that is located at the rear of the oven may be at fault. part number 5303935061. However the digital clock can also cause this problem, and should be diagnosed by a technician.

Tappan Oven #MEF500PBWD heating unevenly

Perhaps the item you are using to check temperatures is not accurate. I my line of work, I use a digital thermometer which records immediate temperature. Perhaps understanding the process will help you see more accuracy in the way you read the temperature in your oven. Allow me to offer this explanation....First of all, place your thermometer near on the top rack as close to the oven temperature probe as possible. This probe is the focal point for your oven and detects the temperature and opens the electrical circuit to turn off the element when the desired set temperature is attained. Set your electric oven to 300 degrees and hopefully, you have a window in your oven to watch. The bake element will come on and the temperature will rise until it reaches 300 degrees. It is at this point when your oven bake indicator light should go out. When this happens....look inside. The element is still bright orange and emitting heat and will continue to raise the temperature in the oven to approximately 325 - 340 degrees. With this noted, you will see the temperature beginning to drop 315, 310, 300, 295, 290, 285 perhaps even 280 or some even lower to 275 and then the indicator lamp will go on indicating the circuit has closed thus turning on the element, Finally there is a variance and no range GAS or ELECTRIC will ever maintain a even 300 degree temperature. The calibration set point is based on the 300 degrees. If your oven light goes off within 20-25 degrees of three hundred degrees, your oven is already calibrated pretty close and I would not attempt to adjust it at all.

Range will not hold a consistent temperature

Good chance your bake element is out. Could be the element or a terminal burned off.
When you set to bake, normally it preheats which uses the bake and broil element.
When it reaches "near" temp, the broil goes off and the bake takes over.
If the bake element, (the one in the bottom), is not working, the temp will decline.

Check:
Turn to 450 deg.
Watch the elements, assuming you have a door with a glass, and see if both elements, top and bottom, glow red.

Red light won't go out

If the indicator light you are referring to is the 'surface hot' light then the element has failed. Each element contains a sensor to detect when the element is hot, these sensors fail. The element will have to be replaced. If there is only one light to indicate hot surface, you will have to determine which element has failed.

If the indicator light you are referring to is the 'element on' light then the corresponding control switch has failed. Each control switch contains a switch that will illuminate a lamp to indicate a burner is on. This switch has probably stuck closed.
