How to hard reset nokia 5220 - Nokia 5220 XpressMusic Cellular Phone

it seems a problem with your nokia software, nokia 5220 is a series 40 it means this problem can't handle by 3 fingers trick so you need to go to nokia care center or nokia care point to make a hard reset of your phone..

following are the ways to format a nokia phone:
-dial a code *#7780#
or
*#7730#
or
-switch off the phone, press 3 # and answer keys at once. -now at the same time switch on the phone -keep pressing the keys until u see the text formatting written on the screen.

1.- Basic Reset or Soft Reset for nokia 5220 XpressMusic This option restores the .ini files from the ROM.
Does not erase data (photos, videos, documents) or applications from
a third party. Key Code *# 7780 # (click this combination of keys on the
keyboard in the mobile)



2.- Total Reset or Hard Reset for nokia 5220 XpressMusic
This option restores the original operating system from the ROM.
Formats the C: partition and deletes all data including the memory
card. Key Code *#7370# (click this combination of keys on the keyboard
in the mobile)

Important: To proceed to reset, the battery must be full and the
mobile device connected to the charger. If during the course of reset,
the mobile stop receiving electricity it can ruin the internal flash
memory of the mobile device and stop function.

If during this reset process it requires code, input 12345 as Nokia master reset code

The only thing you can do is try to reset the settings to factory defaults by entering *#7780#. If prompted for your lock code, that will be Nokia's default 12345 unless you've changed it.

In order to have the phone hard reset, you'll need to take it to a Nokia Care Point.

The 5220 XM, as a S40 phone, cannot be formatted by the end-user, regardless of security code issues.

5220 is a baseband 5 unit of nokia ,an express music phone...because of it many function like music player,video etc,its software is very sensitive...that trouble cannot fix by any reset code ,formatting ,hard reset or factory setting...you need to go to a nokia care center or expert mobile technician to reprogram your cellphone by an appropriate software because that phone cannot be DOWNGRADED to prevent more damage in your cellphone...thanks for trusting fixya ,i hope it will help you..

Soft Reset
Soft Reset will clear pending errors and bring your mobile to an initial state by restoring Factory setting. To operate this function on your mobile, the shortcut is: *#7380#

This function apparently works on almost all nokia mobile phones.
Hard Reset
It may happen that despite you have restored your mobile to factory setting, the error still exist. In this case, it is recommended that you opt for Hard reset

• Enter the code: *#7370# and press Yes to confirm initialization.
