Footswitch for 1988 41 lb thrust Model Brute trolling motor is broken. Cannot find replacement for plastic footswitch locally. Grainger was a solution posted... they have 48 listed...which one will work for me?

All motors will draw higher amperage with varying loads. Your hi speed motor winding has probably shorted some its winding's without having gone to ground. It probably needs to be replaced to get your hi speed back. I have run into similar problems in heavy commercial hydronic pumps. Best to have mechanic check it out. An OHM test with factory specs. will tell for sure.
Yes, the jack MAY actually be broken. It will need to be serviced. Run cables through the handle to avoid plugs from being yanked sideways and breaking the jacks.
I believe you may have a bad low voltage circuit board problem. I do not think they make the board any longer but you may be able to convert it to work by bypassing the circuit board. I am working on one now.
