The dryer is making a loud noise-like metal on metal
It is like a screeching noise. The entire motor assembly was replaced 4-5 yrs ago, but it is now making this noise at the beginning and during the drying cycle.

A loud screeching sound from your dryer could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
Belt: A worn or broken belt can cause a loud screeching sound. To check this, unplug the dryer and remove the front panel. Look for any signs of wear or damage to the belt. If it looks worn or broken, you'll need to replace it.
Drum Rollers: Dryer drum rollers can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, the rollers may be worn and need to be replaced.
Idler Pulley: A faulty idler pulley can cause a screeching noise. You can check this by removing the belt and spinning the pulley by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, it may need to be replaced.
Motor: A motor that is failing can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand and listening for any unusual sounds coming from the motor.
If you're not comfortable checking these components yourself, it's best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.
yes most likely it is the drive belt. pretty easy replacement. go to repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for very good videos to show you how this is done. good luck
disassemble clean and assemble paying attention to condition
noise from bearings going out/screeching ???
noise from unbalanced load/ lots of vibration??
noise from scraping/grinding/metal on plastic ??
noise from scraping/grinding/plastic on plastic ??
there any burning smell also ??
is any part getting warm ( turn upside down to check ) ( hold or place on thick layer of kitchen towels
be aware if it is old ~ 20 yrs give or take 20 yrs getting a new juicer will be less hassle than trying to repair
Well, sir, it is metal on metal, and you did well to stop it. Someone will be needing to take the whole thing apart and find the problem. It may be easy because the metal should show where it was rubbing because it will be shiny bright.
Be blessed.
could be your pulley or rollers or the motor itself you have to take the entire unit apart and visually inspect where the noise is coming from could be rear bearing if the model is old enough if you are not mechanical i suggest you call a tecnician hope this helps
The high pitch sound may come from the brake pads as metal parts hit the disc to signal the owner that it needs change. The metal parts gets exposed when the pads have worn out. The brake also has a hub to cover the disc. See if the metal plate is hitting it but this issue would appear when the wheels are in motion. Check if it is the belts, have the tension checked out. Other than that the bearings are the other items on your wheel that could cause a high pitched sound when you car is in motion.
My dryer did the same thing. I had to replace the front support glide assembly and needed 4 teflon glides.
The front part of the dryer runs over this plastic piece seen here upside down.
this part is about $50 CAN there are 4 plastic or teflon glides that fit into this.
My dryer had worn through the teflon glides and start wearing away this piece.
My dryer is a GE front load dryer. And I did get a burning smell because the dryer was wearing away the plastic. After the teflon strips wore down.
Hope this helps
This happened to me also. The drive pulley on the motor fell apart. It was a cheap die-cast pulley with a cold-shut in the casting. Screwing it on the motor shaft during initial assembly at the plant cracked it and eventually it fell apart. There is a replacement pulley but it is hard to find - it is not under parts for this dryer. You have to make a generic search for "motor pulley" or "Drive Pulley" or some such phrase (this happened to me two years ago so I am doing this from memory). You may not be sure if it will fit but if it looks like the same pulley - has the same number of grooves - it will fit. The replacement pulley is not die-cast - it is machined from a piece of 1040 steel - it is much better.
