Where is the thermostat in a Bosch KGU3102GB Fridge/Freezer. The freezer is working, but the fridge part is not. I've switched it off the recommended 48 hours and I've dusted the coils down. This problem happened a year ago and I corrected it but it doesn't appear to be working this time round. Is it something that can be solved or should I consider replacing the whole unit.

more than likley its the thermostat stoped working,,its the part that tells the compresor to start up and cool things down, change the thermostat first
Air from the freezer is blown into the fridge by a fan, some new type frigs have electronic controls that open and close a vent to frig. the older ones have two vents in the frig from the freezer and when covered with frost or ice the air will not reach the frig. check for ice or just defrost the freezer if there is ice or frost, also check for food or plastic over vents in freezer. Also check that the freezer fan is running as these sometimes become blocked or defective motor.
gas is sealed for life....sounds like it is auto defrost mode.leave switched on. after a full manual defrost. for at least 24 hours to settle down keep door shut... then check. should reset itself.make sure all vents, drains are clean.
Does your model have independent thermostats for the fridge & freezer???
If not, could be that you will need to change the Thermostat.
These are not expensive - around £10 if you buy on the Internet.
Easy to fit yourself...just turn off the power, remove the power plug from the wall, then unscrew the 'stat unit from inside near the top of the fridge (some are attached to the interior light) and remove the screw holding the thermostat tube to the rear wall.
Often the thermostat gets a small hole somewhere in the long tube, which then lets all the gas escape, making the stat useless.
You can see these small holes in the pipe if you use a magnifying eyeglass, like the kind Jewellers use.
no, its probably weak capacitors which provide power to switch the relay. Take the control board out and ask a friendly TV repair tech to change the capacitors
frist check the freezer thermostat and make sure that it's set to at least 5 or 6. if that is okay and you still have this problem, you may need to have the thermostat replaced and maybe more.
as far as the icemaker, if it's just the ice part that does not work, i would recommend checking the valve and water line coming into the icemaker.
can you tell me if this is a side by side or a top or bottom mount freezer? if you have the model #, that would be great.
