Viewing pictures from camera on computer

I am trying to connect my fuji S3000 to my laptop. I have installed the software and followed instructions. Connect USB to camera, then to computer, then turn on the camera. Computer said I should then be able to view my pictures. My camera has a reading on the screen that says DSC with a symbol beside it, but I am unable to view the pictures.

When I connect my camera a Microsoft screen comes up and asks how I want to view my pictures. Try going to "my computer" and verify if you see a "drive" for your camera. if you do click on it and you will be able to view your pictures

How do you transfer the pictures to the computer?

I have a Fuji F20. Before the computer will link up with the camera and find it, the power supply for the camera needs to be hooked up into the wall.

Here is a post from earlier I did for an Olympus camera. The instructions here should be the same for the Fuji.

I down loaded the software for a fuji finepixj10...i can not download pictures...it will not open

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I have a new fuji finepix z70 camera i have followed instructions but no photos come up on laptop

Have you tried transfer to computer using a card reader ? If not transferring directly from camera it is more than likely the Fuji drivers are not correctly installed remove drivers and reinstall (check for correct drivers PC or Mac) Have you tried on another laptop? I would say it is more than likely a software problem. If still not working send details of you computer operating system and camera model number please.

You don't need any special software.

Focus error? The camera won't focus. Focus Error is displayed in the viewing screen. Zoom action & everything else seems to work fine. Won't focus, won't take pictures.

This is a known issue with Fuji S3000 cameras caused by dust and dirt that get in through the loosely mounted lens mechanism, there are only three solutions.

  1. If under warranty you can send the camera in for repair.
  2. Saturate around the lens with WD40 and wiggle the lens until it becomes responsive again every month or so.
  3. Dismantle the camera and clean out around the internal gear-box and lens components about once a year.

Fuji finepix e510 won't turn on

If your Fuji e510 battery system is like the Finepix S3000 or the S3100 take a look at the following postings: Finepix S3100 (Camera power does not come on...) by banobo of Feb 07,2008 and check out solutions #2 & #4, (Mine is #4), Also see posting by "tomawamba for Fuji S3000" and my slightly differently worded solution.(Only one posted). May be best to get camera working before connecting with anything else. Good luck, be patient.

Initializing of xD-Picture card

The S3000 has a 512MB limit according to Fuji. Ther is also no firmware upgrade to address this issue. However I loaded a 1GB Olympus M type card into th S3000, which was pre-fornatted and worked straight away. After putting the card into the reader in my laptop, and then returning to the camera, the camera identified the card as not initialized. I tried to format the card in the camera but this didn't work.

To fix this I connected the camera to the computer using the USB cable located the camera card via My Computer, left clicked on and did a quick format in FAT (FAT16). After this the camera read the card and indicated 1305 frames available at 3M.
