Westinghouse keeps shutting off randomly

My 2005 westinghouse 37'' lvm 1080p monitor keeps shutting off randomly and then will be able to be turned on about 5 minutes later. It finally got to the point where it will not turn back on. Any ideas?

My 42 inch westinghouse wont turn onDTV 1080p TX-42F430S

If you are referring to that you are unable to select the the 1080p setting in the TV menu, first try changing the aspect ratio in the TV Menu.
If that does not do it, you have to change the display setting ion your device, if you can not or it does not have 1080p the problem is that resolution is unsupported by your device

I have the westinghouse monitor ( modeL # lvm-37w1) nad the picture keeps going nuts on the left side of the monitor only. anyone know what could be wrong?

Hello, this model has two ribon cables that run from the t_con board to the panel, it sounds like you might have to replace one of them if not the whole t_con board. You can find parts for this at www.shopjimmy.com, I would recommend you taking this unit to a certified repair center if you are not atleast a bit technical because you have to did a bit deep in to the set for this one.

Replacing main board

While that is possible, it seems a bit drastic. That being said, the only way we can truely respond with useful information is if you provide us with the make and model as well as a description of the problem.

Thanks,

It is worth fixing but you have to replace the power supply. It is a fairly common problem with the Westinghouse units.
