Kenmore 80 washing machine won't empty

Washing machines will not spin until they have emptied most of the water from the drum.
I would check the outlet pipe is clear and the pump runs with no obstruction first.

So it will not do what it is told. This happened to my Candy machine the other day. It was finished and I opened the door, out came water and I got 5 towels on the floor to dry up the water. Closed the door again and put empty water on, it emptied the water, stopped the machine and put spin on and it made it.
My experience ,learned the hard way, to wait long enough after the machine stops as well as between changing programs.

Might be something lodged in the drain pipe on the drum, such as a coin or similar object.

Well the first thing is to check and see if the belt is broke on the drum (take the back off) or the belt is slipping ,hence the noise .Not a major deal but that is what it sounds like and that is good news because that is an easy fix. Get model and your nearest appliance store will have one. I probably won't empty water cause the other two cycles weren't working ,I'm pretty sure its the belt from what you have told me.Good luck! Oh and by the way it comes offf easy just undo the springs and well you'll see easy!

will the drum go round when on a wash. and is it drianing water out if the drum goes round its not your brushes. if it not emptying water you pump as gone and will not spin if there is water in the drum

Unplug machine, remove water pump and motor, behind the motor is a coupler, take broken parts to your local appliance parts store. Costs 16 bucks, replace the broken parts with new ones, reassemble machine. Never ever do a blanket/comforter in your machine again!!

yes you will most likely need a belt.

INSPECT LID SWITCH IT S WERE THE LID CLOSES SHOULD MAKE A CLICKING NOISE IF NOT IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
